Keramies village is in a great spot, only 10' by car from the airport or Argostoli, the capital of the island. While not a coastal village we have access to around a dozen beaches nearby within 10’ or less of driving. The proximity to the capital and its city perks while still being within nature in a small traditional village is what gives this part of the island a unique edge. Primarily suited for relaxing, slowing your pace and enjoying life, you are still not alienated from the busy parts of the island, lost somewhere many miles away from any shopping, dining and entertainment choices.
You can stay in and have your drinks in the front patio or the garden under the summer stars. Or, if you feel like it, in 10’ you can be in downtown Argostoli or Lassi checking out the bars and restaurants for a night out.
The front patio is equipped with a bench, chairs and a large umbrella to make it an excellent place for enjoying meals or drinks outside.
Besides the patio, the property includes a private garden with olive trees and flowers. Ideal peaceful place to read your book … or write one!
There is a private, open parking space with automated gates available for one car. If needed you can also park another car on the street at the front.
The cottage itself is a 35sqm building with one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchenette and a small dining area.
The house is air conditioned throughout and has free wi-fi internet access.
The bedroom is equipped with a queen size bed, a dressing table and a wardrobe. In the bedroom you can also find a full-size mirror, iron and ironing board. All necessary linen and pillows for the bed plus body and face towels are provided plus some extra.
The kitchenette is equipped with a small size oven and two hobs, fridge, a kettle and toaster. Of course, we provide pan and pots, cooking tools, cutlery, plates and glasses necessary to prepare and enjoy your meals. The washing machine is also located here.
The bathroom is equipped with a shower.
There is an additional outdoor shower in the garden which is great for that pesky sand stuck on you after the beach. Additional hand basin outside the back door of the property.
All windows have nets to keep summer insects away and let the fresh air in.
Tap water is clean and perfectly drinkable but you might find it hard if not used to it and can always buy bottled from the stores.
Housekeeping and change of linen happen weekly, but if you need a different arrangement, we can discuss it. We try to use cleaning products not tested on animals whenever possible.
We are locals who love our island and our heritage and history. A great part that heritage is respecting and honoring guests, hospitality is a trademark of our people and of course ourselves. We also like great food, made from the best fresh ingredients. We can source fresh organic vegetables and seasonal fruits, eggs and milk from local farmers for you for an extra cost if you like.
We can always discuss restaurants in the area or the rest of the island, sights and beaches worth visiting.
As mentioned before, we adore pets. We love all animals and of course welcome pets on the property. A word of caution though: if you are coming from an urban environment, please keep in mind, the cottage is in an open space surrounded by nature. Always keep an eye on your pets in the yard or garden as they could stray away. Do not leave them alone at the property assuming they cannot get out and away.
We strive to provide a peaceful haven, a place to relax and enjoy the surroundings, get away from the frills of city life. There is no TV in the cottage on purpose. We urge you to go out and explore the village and the rest of the island.
Kefalonia is a magical place and we can’t wait to become your hosts and guides to it.
My business obligations don’t allow me to spend the whole season in Kefalonia. However, someone will always be there to welcome and check you in personally. If not myself then another family member or an associate of mine. Someone will also be on call if you need anything during your stay.
