We fell in love with the village as i am sure you will
We hope you will enjoy your stay at our house Sionna. As a keen angler, walker and cyclist myself i can say that there are few places better to enjoy doing what you like to do. The fishing is excellent just down the road at the marina or at any of the local lakes and there is a notice across the road from the house pointing you in the right direction of a number of venues. The iron mountain which you can see from the front of the house is just a short drive or cycle away and the views are breathtaking from the top. There are also many walking paths to take a leisurely stroll. If you like fine dining there are plenty of great restaurants in Carrick-on-Shannon about 12km away. If you like a pint and a bit of 'Craic' Gerties and McKeons pubs are only 50mtrs away' I can honestly say that i have never met friendlier people than those in Keshcarrigan and they will go out of their way to make you welcome. On your day of arrival you will be met in the village with the key and i am sure no questions will remain unanswered about the area or what's best to do.
Sionna is set on the main street on a traditional village. 50mtrs up the road is the Shannon-Erne Blueway (waterway) and Lough Scur. 100mtrs the other direction is Lough Keshcarrigan with sunning views. Fifty mtrs up the road you will find Gerties & McKeons Bars and the Village shop where you can buy all your essential groceries. Where else can you go shopping and get apint of the traditional Irish Guinness at the same time. Both Geries & McKeons bars offer a big open fire on those cold evenings. Both bars have music from time to time and of course always the Irish "Craic". The market town of Carrick-on Shannon is about 13km away, here you will find a picturesque area full of bars and restaurants as well as a local market. There are lots of places to visit in the area such as the Arigna Mines and the museum in Ballinamore. We have a small park in the village which is picturesque and well maintained. Keshcarrigan is a beautiful village with lots of visitors who keep coming back for the beautiful scenery and I am sure if you visit the area you will want to do the same. Why not check out and "Like" our facebook page "SIONNAKESH" for ideas of things to do around the area.
