Lovely quiet oasis.
A really nice, quiet, clean, friendly place to stay. Given its location near a busy interchange I can’t believe you don’t hear traffic noise. Set in lovely grounds it has loads of parking and 8 Tesla charge stations. Breakfast was a nice buffet style and the coffee machine provides a good choice too. The only issue we had was the self service check in, it gave us the room card but didn’t print the room number or directions! Thankfully they still have someone at reception who could scan the card, tell us our room number and give us directions. Other than that small issue it was a great stay and thoroughly recommended.

For us who traveled by rail ,bus and taxi .The nearest bus stop was not easy to get to .we used taxis quite a bit . Also would have liked room service to empty bins ,refresh glasses and cups etc not necessarily changing towels or linen every day but do a quick visit for essentials like top up milk,tea coffee packs.otherwise good and I would support ecofriendly approach .

I use this place each time we come to see my son at his air base, and we never usually have any problems. This time however, as soon as we opened the door, the smeel from the room was horrendous. And with the hotel being fully booked, we couldnt change rooms, so I had to swap rooms with my son, his partner and 2 year old daughter, because I couldnt have them staying in that room! It was too late to get anything done as we drove down from manchester and didnt attive til 10.30pm. We asked for the room to be cleaned while we were out the following day fo our 2nd nights stay, but when we got back, the smell was still there! Again, fully booked and nothing could be done! So, after 2 awful nights sleep in a room that smelled like someone had been smoking something they shouldnt, i can honestly say i am not going to be using this place again. Which is upsetting, because we usually love this place. They need to investigate that smell. It has to be coming from somewhere for it to keep smelling like that after a deep clean!

Lovely to come back.
I’ve stayed here several times during Covid lockdown as it was one of the few hotels that stayed open and I relied on it when working away . For that reason alone I always come back here and give them my custom . The rooms are cosy clean and well kept . My room overlooked the back and I enjoyed watching the wildlife from my window and as a wildlife officer it was lovely to see . My only grump was I barely slept as pillows were uncomfortable and bed so my shoulder was very sore through the night but I’d still stay again .

Slightly better, albeit more expensive, than the local competitor, Premier. Wifi is a bit flakey at times. Food is adequate but not great. However, it's comfortable, quiet, clean, staff are pleasant and the room was fine. Nice watching the multitide of rabbits outside on the lawn. Maybe add leporine pie to the specials menu??

Wanted to love it - room for improvement
Seems like a lovely little place, decorated nicely and the staff seem pleasant. We stayed in room 114 with a baby, however, the room itself and the hallway from room 100 onwards - had an awful damp smell which is completely noticeable all day/night, I would of hoped that a booking with an infant below 1 they may have not put us in a room in that state. We tried to keep the window open to help but it didn’t do much as they don’t open much. We did also request a room change but were fully booked. We’ve come home and unfortunately all our items of clothing, including our baby cot & bags have the smell now too. The room was clean & as stated before the staff were welcoming & pleasant, so otherwise it was a nice stay just let down by the smell.

The whole experience was very good.. We would have liked to be told there was no one cleaning the room unless you stayed for five days or more. You could request clean towels, tea, coffee and milk etc which was not a problem to the very friendly staff.

We were visiting family so know the area well and were delighted to find The Dragonfly. Clean & comfortable room, nice bar facility, with the bonus of outside seating. The menu choice was good & and a lovely buffet breakfast to start the day. We will be back!
