Accommodation In Kintamani

A highland area in the top of East Bali, Kintamani is a region centred on the spectacular volcano of Mount Batur. Visitors can discover the rugged beauty, phenomenal hot springs, and the fantastic history of the area, which all make Kintamani one of the most memorable places in Bali. Make sure you book your Kintamani hotel and come see it for yourself!

Mount Batur is the biggest landmark in the area and is an incredible sight. It’s an active volcano, which has erupted 24 times since 1800. Today it's only a small volcano, and regardless of how massive the giant crater looks it's still relatively safe. While you're here you'll notice the locals fishing in Lake Batur, but continue on to Penelokan Village and you will have the best spot in Bali to get photos of the smouldering volcanic peak. On a clear day you can see the ribbons of black lava flowing down the face of the volcano.

Local shopping is best done in Kintamani's famous market, which opens every three days. Check out fresh produce from the local farms, tasty oranges, delicious corn, and a huge range of vegetables, fruit, flowers, tools and livestock. Don't leave without trying jeruk kintamani, a delicious local orange.

Get a feel for religion at the Elephant Temple ‘Goa Gajah’, and its unforgettable entrance to the cave where you walk through the mouth of a giant demon. Puru Ulun Danu Batar is another wonderful temple that was rebuilt back in 1926 after the original was destroyed by the volcano. The temple is dedicated to the goddess of the lake, who is regarded as the deity controlling the water and irrigation systems of the island. Wrap up your day with a trip to Ubud Palace Temple and see the fiery Kecak dance, which is accompanied by a 50 man chorus and is considered the crowning glory of traditional Balinese dance.

Kintamani is a lovely area full of history, traditional Balinese life and the raw natural beauty of the island. Grab a cheap flight to Bali and come enjoy this spectacular destination for yourself. All you need to do is book in great Kintamani accommodation, and your dream holiday awaits!
