Buddha Lives Here
Our stay in this quiet & meditative environment was a pleasure for our group of 5 multi-generational adults. Our conversations with Mark were welcoming, informative & pleasant. The space was interestingly decorated in Zen Buddhist themes reminiscent of our shared times trekking in Nepal & Bhutan. The facilities were clean, comfortable and welcoming. Laneway parking was a real benefit as was the sideyard gazebo & neighbourhood park, both of which were remarkable mosquito free. Great proximity by foot to downtown Elora even for a recent hip replacement guest. The Asian aesthetic was further enriched by an outdoor karate club awards ceremony open to the public in the adjacent park. A pleasant quiet respite for a stay during a hectic University of Guelph alumni weekend visit.

Great Stay
Great location, house and hosts. We were in Elora to attend a wedding at Elora Mill. The Mill, Main Street and park all short walks. Booked both the upper and lower apartments for 6 adults all with their own bed but could have easily accommodated more. Our hosts were there upon arrival and departure. Very kind, friendly and helpful.

Another Great Stay
This was our second time staying here and it was just as good as the first time. The photos and information regarding the rental are spot on and the owners Mark and Nerine were very easy to get a hold of and answered all of our questions. Will be booking again for next year.

Perfect spot for a weekend getaway
There were 4 of us for a women's weekend and this was the perfect spot. The King bed is right in the main living space with a double bunk above it, a separate bedroom with a double bed and another loft style bunk above that. So you have to be willing to sleep in the open area. Otherwise, this is a gem! It used to be a small church at one time so the stained glass windows are beautiful when the sun shines on them in the morning. The decor is bohemian style and very interesting. We loved the huge dining table and a lovely living space with a big screen smart TV. The kitchen has more than everything you need. Found it a bit strange to have two small "bar" fridges and a wine fridge rather than just one full size fridge, so we used our cooler for a bunch of our food. There were ice cube trays in one of the little freezers but someone's frozen food in the other freezer so we just left it. It all worked out. There are two bathrooms too, which is nice. The location is the best part! You are 30 seconds from the main street with its lovely shops. And turn left out the front door and there is a park at the end of the street for viewing the gorge. We ate at the Elora Brewery for dinner and they had live music! A very fun atmosphere and good food. It was too cold to use the fire pit patio out back but would be nice in the summer months. Thanks Mark for dropping by for extra hand towels. I would book this again for a girls weekend!

Interesting spot
Look at the photos closely for layout. 1 self-contained bedroom off kitchen. One bed at the end of the living room, separated by decorative divider. 3rd “bedroom” is a double mattress on the floor above that self-contained room(loft)/up the ladder (with the ceiling so low you must stay on your knees). Realistically, the place sleeps 6 if pairs are sharing beds More than 5 guests at the house get charged extra per. When our numbers changed, they were willing to refund a portion of the $, which I appreciated. There was a hiccup with check-in that we were told was unusual, but they couldn't hide their irritation-- even though it was not our fault (they didn't know we were coming and had to scramble to get the place ready). I was irritated when they didn’t answer my calls or texts when I was parked out front calling for the code to get in.He told me he doesn’t answer his phone. If that’s the case, then give out a different phone number or text me a response. Don't leave me hanging. I went up and tried to open the door, and that's when I found them inside and they explained what was happening. They quickly cleaned the place but didn’t make the bed up the ladder so when I got back from my event, I needed to make the bed. I know if you read the other reviews, you will see that usually things are great, so this was likely a one-off problem. They did offer some $$ back to fix, but the inconvenience and the energy at check in was a bummer

Great location and host.
Six of us came to Elora for a wedding and stayed at this great downtown location. It was super close to the Elora Foundry and Granary where the reception was held. The next morning another sibling joined us for breakfast and the eight of us hung out and had a mini reunion. We would definitely recommend this spot to anyone. Very charming and close to all amenities. Thank you Mark for your attentiveness.

The house has been described as "Bohemian". That is an accurate description. The furnishing are unlike anything we've ever seen. Mark was helpful and easy to contact. The location is perfect for strolls through town and hikes along the gorge. We recommend this accommodation.

Wish we lived closer to stay more often
We absolutely LOVED this unique stay in Elora. The place was spotless, exactly as described and pictured, and the owners were so kind and helpful. They even left us a nice welcome. It was perfect. I would stay here every month if we lived closer. I fell in love with Elora and this is the perfect place to stay. It’s 1 block from the middle of town, there’s a playground across the street, and it’s a short walk to the gorge. One of my all time favorite short term rentals!

My two brothers and I had a great time in the area, and really appreciated everything about Mark's VRBO home. It was such an unusual and bohemian place you can't help by relax as soon as you walk in. Very well appointed and super clean. The location was great and it was very easy to walk to lots of local shops and restaurants. I can't recommend staying here enough.

Fun stay next to the main street!
Had a great stay here. The place is nicely decorated (and a little quirky, in a good way, with the Indian theme) and most importantly, steps from the main street and close to hiking paths. A minor note, only 1 bed is in its own enclosed space. The 2nd bed is in the main room with the kitchen, dining table, and tv. That wasn't obvious to us from the photos. There is a room divider to provide some privacy but if your group tends to get up at different times, they will likely wake up the people on the 2nd bed from the activity in the kitchen/ common area. Nevertheless, was a wonderful stay and the hosts were easy to get ahold of and welcomed us with delicious butter tarts! She even brought a fresh loaf of bread from the local bakery midway through our stay. What a nice touch. Would stay again.

Remote working from Elora
Silver lining to the past couple of years, we now have the ability to work remotely. For 2 weeks, we made Elora and this lovely property our home base. The location was amazing, the hosts were so helpful and the wifi is great! While the space can technically handle many more people, for an extended period of time it was great to have the extra living space. My only recommendation would be to install a few extra hooks to hang clothes. We were also very appreciative of the extended stay and new listing discounts. The converted church is quite unique- which is what caught our attention. At one end of the street we were at the Gorge and walked the trails and the other end we were right downtown enjoying the restaurants, shops and delicious bakeries. Even visited Elora spa for a decadent manicure. Thank you for a wonderful home away from home!
