2/10 Terrible

Disliked: Cleanliness
Needs a major upgrade
We stayed 2 nights in unit 2 in June 2024. Check in was chaotic and unorganized. The deck on the river is lovely, relaxing and as advertised. Everything else was substandard from checkin, to the overall state of the aging 4-plex units to the cleanliness. There was an empty beer bottle in the fridge left from the prior guest. An exploded beer bottle in the freezer (big mess), the shower had clumps of hair on the floor. The cabins are very dated, past the cozy funky/bohemian stage and well into needing significant updates from the bed to the kitchen. The road in and out was strewn with garbage, dilapidated housing, unattended dumpsters and trash cans rolling around (I’m not exaggerating). It’s a dump. Klickitat River is stunning and the surrounding MT Adams area were gorgeous and we fortunately spent our time hiking and birdwatching which we had thankfully pre-planned. This minimized our time at the Inn for which we were grateful. We stay almost exclusively in VRBO’s when traveling within the US and internationally. We have NEVER before left a negative review. We like to support small venues in small towns rather than high end exclusive lodging. The cost of our stay at the Klickitat River Inn was way overpriced for the accommodations and we recommend you stay elsewhere til this site undergoes a major upgrade and the immediate surroundings are cleaned up. Lodging in White Salmon, Bingen, or Lyle offer good access to the area and might be a much better option for travelers.
