They give us no choice
In the morning of the day of check-in, we got a message from this hotel telling us they are undergoing “construction” and don’t know what when will finish. Said they had put us in their sister hotel - Koh Ma Resort - “which is more expensive” They give us no choice at that point, as we cannot cancel on the day of check-in. In Koh Ma everything was closed and only one restaurant available, which the hotel restaurant. It was so depressing... nothing to do at all.

This was a nice property for the young and fit. I have a handicap and my BF has a heart problem so we found walking up the steep hill a little hard. While the room was nice, it was a little small.

Paradise found, great stay
Only had 2 nights here, staff were excellent, always polite and helpful, the hotel was near empty, due to low season, so breakfast was a bit of a mash up, ticks and circles on a menu list, but food was very good, highly recommended the yogurt with muesli and fruit, very nice, the beach is stunning and the views from some of the higher were to die for, the quality of the rooms and more importantly the bedding is very high, great nights sleep, If your staying a few days or more you’ll need to rent a bike, they can arrange that for you, breakfast was 200 baht each per day and motorbike 250 per day, they can arrange pickup from the ferry 150 each person each way, Would definitely stay here again, like being in heaven

A slice of paradise
Excellent 10 day stay, very secluded area with a relatively small beach. Food at the resort was very good & well priced, plus there were a handful of close by restaurants. This resort is set into a hillside on various levels which gives all amazing views, however may not suit elderly travellers. The absolutely only negative I had was the very very steep drive to the resort from the main road which could be a problem if wet & especially on a motorcycle.

Beautiful hotel
Beautiful hotel set in a scenic resort with the three tiered pool right on the beach. If you can book one of the rooms with its own pool, we didn’t but they looked amazing. Our room was set quite far back up the hill so unfortunately it was a bit of a steep walk so there was no quickly nipping back to the room if we forgot anything so if you have trouble walking on uneven ground opt for a room close to the pool. The BBQ they have on each night is so tasty and staff are very polite and helpful.

Not worth the money
It is 2 stars hotel, room too small and bathroom smelly(badly - you have to block tbd sink). No towels for hands or hairs.. no channels , they have few bad/ noisy signal channels that you can't even watch and not mentioning the tv is next to the bed. In addition the air condition decided to turn itself automatically during the night. Next to the bed is the mini bar which is noisy as well.

Not a luxury experience
Very dissapointed by our stay. booked & stayed 3 nights paying almost 5000thb per night to stay in a lagoon pool villa, some staff cannot understand a word of english. the old lady in resteraunt was always abrupt annoying and confronting almost shouting at guests where to order from. Never saw her do any work. one night we rang to enquire about room service & the kitchen did not have what we wanted which was fine so we told them thanks goodnight, however 10 minutes later a banana pancake arrives with a young boy demanding we pay for it. i told him no & next minute "Lim" arrives and starts shouting at me in my room saying i shouldnt order food then not pay for it. basically intimidating me & trying to scare me into paying for it. i was horrified!! i refused then spoke with manager next day regarding it & no offer to do anything extra for us just a brief sorry thats it. the food is really no good... omlette is super greasy, food has no flavor poor quality. we ordered many room service & tried bbq on beach, all food is below average. the lagoons are filthy & need to add lots of fish because mosquitos are shocking. reception staff are happy and helpful. the lagoon villa pool rooms are lovely however the 2nd room is needing bedheads on the single beds and the matresses are like sleeping on a rock. another problem is noise... the staff seem to allow people to yell & scream without keeping it under control. tv only has 5 channels. for the price the property needs lots of work.

you're better off at a different hotel
Haad Salad is a great beach, you'll enjoy it very much, just choose any one of the other hotels in the bay. This hotel is about 10-15 years past its glory days and about 5 year past a much needed major renovation. everything you touch or feel on the verge of breaking or already broken. bed mattress has 6 metals across you feel the whole night, inroom safe doesn't work (since we had 2 rooms we used the other), hot tube either doesn't work or can't drain water, jets are green from stagnant water, door to balcony shuts at about 4 cm off the doorpost to allow muskitos to enter the room at night (on an island full of them..), the part of the air-condition that directs the flow of the air was removed (or broken a few years ago), lightpost outside the room had been broken sometime ago and now you can mostly see the black masking tape used to fix it ;-), all wooden decking around hotel are either broken or will break any minute, pool shower floor has small sharp stones instead of the wood deck that broke, there is a huge hole next to the pool where the bar used to be... and more and more and more.. i've got plenty of pictures i will post for everyone to see. you can sum this all up with what the receptionist told us on checkin when we asked if the manager was in the hotel that day.. he said "She is never here" ! can't blame her...

Hotel staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The front desk was very helpful. The restaurant at the hotel was absolutely amazing, I would recommend eating breakfast and dinner there! The bungalows are in pretty good condition and kept spotless. I was sad to leave this excellent resort and plan on going again on my next trip.

This is almost a beautiful place, but no upkeeps are done. We paid a high price due to full moon party. We had trouble with wifi in our room; bed was not comfortable, the room had a smell that was cleared when we opened the door and the balcony door. The AC blows straight onto your face while in bed, and was not pleasant. But, the room was large and lovely. It is a shame that they don't put in a little effort to keep the rooms and hotel in better condition as it is a great location on the beach. Breakfast was good. Main road was under construction so troublesome to get there, but they worked on it very fast. Best to have scooters to explore the island, though you can walk the beach for various other restaurants and massages. I would look for another place next time.

Looks nice on pictures but the place is old and needs a complete renovation the mouldy smell was everywhere from the reception to the restaurant to the rooms, where we found old towels, stained bath robes, dirty slippers, and they made us count the old dirty cups and towels in the room... !? The staff was nice but they are obviously managed by very stingy owners. On the bright side the salad beach location is beautiful, the ferry pick up was well organised, and the restaurant Thai food was great. But not worth the US$110 ticket they charge. We couldn't stay even for one night, we packed up and left even though the room was prepaid, and we found lovely beach bungalows in nearby charming Chaloklum bay ranging $25 to $50.

Nice hotel for family
I thought this is a good hotel. Quiet and clean. I booked a 2-bed room villa. The swimming pool is OK not really big. There is also a Jacuzzi which I didn't try but I think children will love it. Transportation is not very convenience but if you book this hotel you should know that. I am really a bit scare of their taxi there so I usually book the hotel van to go outside. You can arrange with the hotel.

Great location & service
I stayed here for 9 nights B&B in late June located on the North West of the island about 30 mins drive away from the noisier Southern resort area of Haad Rin (Full Moon parties etc). The hotel accommodation is built into the hillside and set into a stunning landscape and on a fine beach. The beach has a number of restaurants, bars, masseuse huts etc as well as the in-house offering so plenty of choice. The hotel itself though - like a good number of the island resort hotels - is set down a steep hill and to get around means hiring a scooter - very reasonable - or taking a taxi to outside locations further afield. Standard taxi fare is between 100 and 200 baht depending on the destination i.e. £2 to £4 - not going to break the bank. The pool is set on 3 linked tiers and is beautiful for lounging for those who do not want to lie on the white sandy beach. The bay is tidal so the far end (5 mins) is better for swimming as the area immediately in front of the hotel is too shallow and used by some small local boats etc.

Get the pool villa, it's worth it.
It's a bit far from town (all the shops are near Tong Sala pier), but there are a lot of restaurants along the beach offering decent food at great price. Rent a bike and you could have more options. For inexperienced riders, please be careful, as the road leading to the hotel is a steep hill with sharp bends. Like really steep. Room is great. Beautiful room, spacious, clean, cosy bed, clean private pool, fantastic beach view from the room and the private pool. The living hall smells like old wood, but the air-conditioning gets rid of it after you switch it on for a while. You can access the pool directly from the living hall as well. Our room is quite far from the reception, very tiring to walk. But you can call front desk to get a buggy to pick you up. Hotel staff can help you with bike rental and other transportation (even until Surat Thani airport). The beach where the hotel is at (Haad Salad) is not that great for swimming (amazing sunset view though), but a 5 minute bike ride can take you to Mae Haad beach (really beautiful beach), or Haad Yao beach (wide, shallow beach, with the softest sand I've ever felt). Hotel staffs are very helpful. Only a few staff can speak English well, but overall they're all really nice people. Breakfast is just okay though. If you could choose, get the room near the pond. It's nearer to the reception and the beach. The pond looks green, but it doesn't smell or anything really.
