Accommodation In Koh Lipe
With world class reefs, shipwrecks and unspoilt coastline at your doorstep, any trip to Koh Lipe is a holiday in paradise. As Thailand’s most southerly island, it’s located in the heart of the Tarutao National Park. Whatever you are looking for in a hotel on Koh Lipe you can find it; whether you want to relax on the beach or enjoy the water all day long, the possibilities here are endless.
Snorkelling is the prime activity on the island, so grab your flippers and mask and head out off the beach to two great little coral gardens just off Sunshine Beach. Some of the best snorkelling is already set up with ropes to help you stay on course, so head over to Koh Bu Tang and see if you can spot a blue spotted sting ray. If you didn’t bring your own gear, many stores along Walking Street have masks and fins to rent.
Scuba diving is growing in popularity around Koh Lipe, with many of the surrounding islands offering tours to explore beautiful soft corals, reef gardens and even a shipwreck. Tours are available for both experienced divers, and those seeking to get certification, so why not give it a shot?
Day trips to nearby islands and beaches are easy to book through one of the many long-tail boat operators. Cross over to Koh Adang and hike to the pretty Pirate Falls, or have lunch with some mischievous monkeys on Koh Tong. Sailing is great fun for the afternoon and you can book courses as a novice or experienced sailor. Otherwise just grab a couple of sea kayaks and explore the islands at your own pace. The best way to wrap up a day on the water is with a fresh chilled coconut and a massage on the beach. Talk about a great end to a great holiday!
One of the great things about Koh Lipe is that it’s easy to reach. Only 60km from the mainland, you can visit at any time of year via Pak Barra, or in the high season (October - April) from Phuket, Phi Phi and a range of other islands. Stay in beachside accommodation on Koh Lipe and take advantage of having a gorgeous coral reef at your doorstep. Wot’s stopping you from booking this amazing island holiday?
