Cumulus is just a couple of minutes walk to the rail and bus station so no need for taxis as there is a a bus for 5 euro from the airport. The hotel is quite basic. My single room was very small with only a narrow window near to the ceiling. On my visit there was a large group of young people staying and so I could hear a lot of noisy conversation till late night. On the plus side the breakfast buffet is excellent. Also the hotel is less than a ten minute walk the the main square for shops etc.

A fine place to stay in Kuopio
I chose this hotel because of it being very near the train station and just a few blocks walk from the tori (outdoor marketplace). Nice shower, pillows, beds, breakfast buffet, lobby. There is also an opportunity to borrow bikes to explore the city.

Staff were really helpful,
I had only intended to stay 2 nights, but because of problems with my car hire, had to stay an extra 2 nights. The staff were amazingly helpful & the hotel amenities are really good. Could not have got better service

Great and comfortable location
The hotel itself has an average appearance with small rooms. Bathrooms had shampoo whoch was really convenient. Breakfast was also average, nothing really special and might even seem of worse quality but I believe it depends on the person. The staff was friendly. The best part is definitely the hotel's location. The railway station is just a few minutes walkaway. The centre with the main facilities is also near and everything's easily accessable. Great for people who want to spend a few days here, was good for me at least.

It was OK
This hotel was ok. Housekeeping was subpar - they barely made the bed even when the sheets came off the bed. No effort to clean the room. The single room was tiny and I was by the street - the street crossing beeping kept me up until it stopped around midnight. There are better hotels in the area (atlas, scandic) I wouldn't stay here again.

Doggy gift bags are an added bonus.
Repeat customers returning from Lapland, we stay at the Cumulus because it's easy to get to, good breakfast buffet and they love dogs. Clean room, just a little cramped for three. For one night, it fits the bill perfectly.

The staff was excellent, very accommodating. Food was very good as well. The only fault we had was with housekeeping. Never took dirty glasses. Had to ask for toilet paper. A couple of days the room was not cleaned until early evening.

Air conditioning please!
Main drawback is the lack of air conditioning, with only a small window slat to open and room at 25+ degrees even at night in mid-August and just a small noisy fan provided not the most comfortable place to sleep. On the upside staff are very efficient and the on-site restaurant is recommended.

There's no a/c in the rooms and it was +30°C in the room even the temperature outside was +15°C. There was no way to get the temperature down. Hotel staff couldn't help. There's no wi-fi. TV was very small. Bathroom was small but OK. The room was clean.

Good for budget
A real 3 star hotel. Good location, nice personnel, nice sauna, acceptable rooms and breakfast. Will go there next time considering the budget. Can not think of a big negative thing
