The view here is from every room and is breathtaking! The hottub was just a bonus, and it too had the view! Beds and linens very comfy. Saw Eagles everyday. Beautiful property, you will not be disappointed! Will definitely come again!

The view from the deck is stunning. Wonderful kitchen and ideal sleeping arrangements for 2 couples. We will stay at this VRBO again just to enjoy the peace and quiet and the gorgeous sunset.

Great break away from it all
We took a break for a few days away from the hassles of normal life. The house was great for that. We spent the time relaxing, playing cards and looking at the gorgeous view. The house was spotless and everything was as advertised. The owner reached out to make sure everything was in order before the rental and made sure that we knew he was available for any issues. I highly recommend this rental.

It's quite a feeling to be in the midst of the birds flying around and looking DOWN at the tops of large pine trees!! The deck was too sunny/hot to sit on during the day (no shade/umbrellas) but was perfect for sitting out as the evening sun set. The place is well equipped. Overall the place was clean however the gas grill was very dirty and required a lot of cleaning before we could use it. The frig also had dried food/spills on a few of the shelves. One small suggestion is to include a note on where to take trash as we didn't know what to do with it until we reached out to the owner who told us we had to take it to the gas station (we finally figured out where that was at). Also, there is no WiFi even tho the VRBO site says there is. The owner told us that is an issue with VRBO, not him, as he has been trying to get that updated.

amazing views
Being high on a bluff the views are amazing. The barges were interesting to watch especially at night when they used a spotlight to see where they were going. Lights on the Lansing bridge and power plant. The trains were fun to watch too. A very good host he answered us right back. The house had everything we needed. Had a fire in the pit outside 1st night and had the gas fireplace when it was very windy out. Will come back. Thanks Kathy & Bill

My husband surprised me by inviting a couple college friends to spend the weekend with us. The view is spectacular here, the hiking was super fun and the pizza down the road was amazing! We had a fabulous time!!

What an amazing view!
Perfect place for 3 couples (from IA, MN, & WI) to meet and enjoy the magnificent view of the fall foliage and the mighty Mississippi River! This was our second year to come and relax on the deck, watch the eagles fly amidst beautiful scenery, and hike in the area's parks. The screened in porch on the lower level was a great place to gather in the evenings with comfortable seating, firepit, and BBQ grill. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen, lower-level family room. Great value!

Photos can't really capture the stunning landscape view from the front yard and deck, you have to see it to believe it. (It is probably HEAVEN for birdwatchers!) Stargazing around a campfire in the front yard also recommended. The house itself is quite nice, with lots of features we didn't even get around to using (like the built-in sound system.) Isolated from neighbors, very private.

Great home with spectacular panoramic view of the Mississippi River and backwaters. view
Great time in a really nice home located on a very high bluff along the Mississippi River at De Soto, Wisconsin. Central air-conditioning was a huge plus during our stay, as it was very warm at times. Nevertheless, I spent most of my time out on the large large deck which featured a big table with four chairs and a removable umbrella. I have been to the area many times before, but never had a 180 degree view like this of the Mississippi, its backwaters, the forests etc. We were so high up there, it was difficult to estimate how high (probably a few hundred feet). Having two bathrooms was helpful, as there were four of us. Plenty of couches and other seating. Huge living room leading out to the deck. Fully equipped kitchen (and though it was not listed in the ad, as of 8-1-22, there was indeed a coffeemaker provided). Easy access to the house, you park right in back, walk up four steps, that's it. Bob the owner was very helpful, friendly, and accessible. Highly recommended home for a vacation stay. 4 1/2 stars out of five.

We really enjoyed our long weekend. The owner was very responsive to our pre-visit requests for information and said he'd be available for further questions but we didn't have any. The only (minor) issues were a very slow coffee brewer, only one wine glass, and no grilling tools, but none of those impeded in any way our enjoyment, and we're quite demanding based on many VRBO property stays elsewhere.

This a great gem in the bluffs of the driftless. Close to activities and also nestled away in case you chose to do nothing like enjoy the view or sit on the deck and watch the sunset. The cabin is updated, comfortable, and has comfy sleeping arrangements. If you’re on motorcycles, you should be comfortable on a short stint of gravel road. The check in was super easy and the owner is easy to deal with. We will be back. Thanks for everything!

Relaxing with a dynamite view
Off the beaten path but overlooking the world. You get the the property seclusion but close to civilization. And did I mention the view? A bird's eye view of the Mississippi river, the bridge to Lansing, boats, barges, trains and the wildlife; Turkey Vultures and Bald Eagles swoop past the large windows in the living area and the deer meander around the house. Everything as advertised and then some. Also, the owner is 10/10 responsive and pleasant to work with. Would highly recommend and can't wait to visit again!
