Sea Lane Sand Dollar is a three level home located in the Beach Barber Tract just two short blocks from the famous Marine Street beach in La Jolla. The spacious 2,330 square foot house has 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths and is in a prime location for guests to enjoy all that La Jolla has to offer.

Ideal for large groups or multiple families with children, the layout of this home offers guests the options of both privacy as well as large areas of shared space. The home has 1 gigabit fiber internet access and a wireless network.

The downstairs level has three bedrooms. The first bedroom has a queen bed plus TV with cable+HBO. The second bedroom has two twin beds. The third bedroom has a separate entrance, with a queen bed, en suite bath and TV with Chromecast.

Also located downstairs there is a bonus room with a twin bed and a sitting area perfect for watching TV on a 50” flat screen with cable+HBO. This TV room has access to two ground level patios. One patio has a comfy sectional and the other has a gas BBQ with a cafe table and umbrella.

The second level of the home has a spacious living and dining room perfect for family gatherings and meals. There is a sitting alcove off the living room with a twin daybed. The living room boasts a 60” flat screen TV with cable+HBO+Chromecast. There is a covered patio with table and chairs for conversations that spill out from the living area. The kitchen is quite spacious, fully stocked, and has Viking stainless steel appliances. The dining room comfortably seats eight guests and the adjacent kitchen counter accommodates an additional three guests.

Upstairs on the third level, the master bedroom has a king bed, flat screen TV with cable+HBO, and a master bath with a separate shower and large tub to soak in after a great day at the beach. On this level there are two decks. The first deck is a sun deck that has a spectacular sunset and ocean view. The second deck is a quiet covered sitting deck and is the perfect area to bring a good book and spend the day relaxing and breathing in the cool Pacific ocean air.

Sea Lane Sand Dollar has classic and comfortable furnishings and is the perfect place to come home to right off the beach. This is not a fancy home for those who are used to luxury accommodations, rather it is perfect for those guests looking to stay and play in La Jolla without having to pay top dollar. Perfectly located close to everything, guests can enjoy the many restaurants and shops all within walking distance of the home, explore the La Jolla coastline, or just stroll down to the beach and take in the warm La Jolla sunshine.

Nice La Jolla property
This house was very spacious and comfortable for our group of friends. The first floor was a nice space for us to hangout, plenty of streaming options on the TV and lots of kitchen equipment. The downstairs floors were gritty and dirty and left residue on your feet/socks. Also the downstairs bathrooms were not very clean as there was mold in the shower corners.

Great place with great location
This place is within walking distance from major attractions of La Jolla. It’s has rooms to comfortably fit all 10 of us. The two car parking barely fit a minivan and Ford Explorer.

Our experience was good other than the first two nights the heat didn’t work in the house and my kids were cold both nights. They did get it fixed the third day, but I still think a partial credit should be issued for the inconvenience.

PROS: location. Super quick walk to the beach (about 3 blocks). We all walked barefoot. Walking distance to town and restaurants. 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Provided Beach towels, some boogie boards and folding chairs. 2 portable AC units. CONS: as other reviews stated, the house isn’t necessarily dirty, but it’s tired and could use some love. Many random patios, but all the patio furniture was so old and dirty, we never sat outside. House had zero cleaning products- we would have liked to wipe the counters, run a vacuum around the kitchen , etc etc. Basic kitchen utensils provided, but nothing else such as salt/pepper, plastic bags. Foil, cooking spray, coffee filters, etc etc. They supply limited laundry detergent and very few shower towels. TV in the living room is very poor quality and needs to be replaced. Home does have AC but it’s very poor functioning, it can’t keep up in the heat of the day and took almost 24 hours to cool down 10 degrees. Master bedroom is very bright in the morning and has a large cut out in the drywall overlooking the downstairs, so it is not quiet if others are up in the house. SAFETY: home is on the corner of a busy street and downstairs car port door has no deadbolt. Kids could easily walk right out. We were concerned with safety at night with our kids sleeping downstairs.

Great location
The house is in a great location. Close enough to walk to the beach and La Jolla tide pools. Beach has a lot of kelp so it’s not great for swimming. The house is really big with lots of bathrooms and bedrooms so it’s great for a large group. However, it was really hot the days we were there and we couldn’t ever get the place to really cool down. There’s fans in the bedrooms and they were a necessity to get any sleep. Also the parking area is so small it’s very hard to fit two cars especially if they’re not compact cars. The place is a bit dated and the bathrooms could do with a remodel. Overall though a good option for the price

Great location, short on house supplies
The positives: GREAT location a few blocks to beach, many restaurants, grocery store; awesome neighborhood. Able to park 2 cars tightly in driveway so no street parking needed (hard to come by). Loved 3 floor layout and many patios connected. Very nice kitchen with top appliances. Nice tv's in all bedrooms and main living room. Clean. Comfortable beds. Many large floor fans available in house to drown out street noise and keep cool. Biggest positives: LOCATION to beach and stores; 3 story layout Negatives: Very few bath towels supplied! Not enough for our family of 10. We had to buy more and wash daily. Same with beach towels! They were small and few. Bring your own. No laundry soup provided. They did provide quite a few dishwasher pods, but NO hand soap in any bathroom. No sponge or dish rags for handwashing dishes. No salt or pepper, though there was a spice rack there. We had to buy EVERYTHING needed to prepare meals. They had a drip coffee maker with filters but no coffee or condiments.. Some of the windows had shades to help block hot sun but many did not so hot sun woke family members early. The wrong code was given to us for front door and took quite a while to reach manager/operator. They finally reset front code and it worked. Fortunately there was a back door from driveway which we were able to open. They had boogie boards and sand toys, plus 2 beach chairs and one umbrella which we happily used. Plenty of white dishes, pots and pans, utensils etc in roomy kitchen. Biggest complaint: Need more towels, soap in bathrooms, sponge for kitchen and basic food prep supplies. Would have been nice to supply port a crib and highchair. We were told to rent those items (expensive from private company)

Great Beach House for a large group
This house was perfect for our family (8 adults, 1 infant, dog). There was plenty of space to gather and find a quiet minute if you needed it. The upstairs decks had beautiful views of the ocean. The house was about 3-4 blocks to the beach, easy walking. It was a great location to walk to local restaurants, liquor store and even grocery store. The house/kitchen were well stocked with all the items we needed to enjoy the beach and cooking for the family. The home is a little worn out (spots on couches, older pots/pans in kitchen) not dirty but just a little worn out, so if you are looking for something fancy this is more of a beach house. One thing to note it is on a major road, in our group the only people who noticed it was upper master guests when windows were open at night but you do get used to it. The managers were very responsive to any issue we had and quickly resolved anything we brought to their attention. We loved it and would go back.

A wonderful get away
We enjoyed our stay in La Jolla this last week at our VRBO! We were 5 minutes from the beach which was wonderful. Our family all fit in the house located on Sea Lane. The House was beautiful and very roomy for all of us. I highly recommend staying here!

Dirty Rental
When I check in the house was not clean all the bedrooms were dirty towels and bedding were on the floor by the washer floors we’re also dirty So I Called Sea Breeze vacation rentals and they said they would send some one the next morning. I was not able to stay that night in the house I had to go and rent a hotel room 3 rooms. The next day I call Sea Breeze Vacation Rentals and they said the house was not ready yet so I went out to keep my family busy until the house was cleaned. I went back to the house @4:30 and the house was not ready yet Im driving around with two toddlers and my elderly mother. Finally the housekeeper said we could come in but only to the upstairs since she still had to clean downstairs. Some of the doors did not lock. I have went through VRBO before to rent a cabin and that experience was good awesome cabin! So that’s why I went through VRBO to rent a house close to the beach. BUT!!! This was the worse experience imagine getting to your rental with your family and the house was DIRTY!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

Perfect for our family!!
Our family of 6 found this home to be perfect for all of us. My husband and I stayed in the top master’s suite and the other four in our party stayed in the the first floor bedrooms (plus large game room/sitting area with outside access). The middle floor was a great space for us all to come together with kitchen, living room, sitting room and outside eating area. The kitchen was beautiful with big windows, great views and was very well stocked with everything we needed for the many meals we cooked. The provided beach equipment made our days on the beach very enjoyable. We enjoyed our stay here very much!

Spacious and close to beach
With one bedroom upstairs 3rd floor and 3 On the first, there was plenty of space for the 4 of us. It was close to the beach And places to eat which was Exactly what we were looking for. Only downside is the neighbors. They were extremely noisy, standing outside starring at us when we pulled up. Then called to complain about us before we had even parked the car. The cleaning people were still present at check in and it took a few mins to shift vehicles around. Then they called to complain about “our barking dog”. We were sitting with him at the time of complaint. He was passed out snoring. Their own dogs (2) however did Bark on and off. We wry time we were outside they seemed to be spying on us. It was very uncomfortable.

Pros and Cons
Pros: Good size and sleeps 10 4 blocks to nice beach Dog friendly Close to activities, shopping, etc. Some beach items available. Cons: Extreme traffic noise affecting the house on the corner of a busy boulevard with commuter traffic affecting bedrooms from 6AM to 12 midnight. This was the major complaint, and should be mentioned when advertising the property. The master bedroom is actually a loft, opening to downstairs dining and kitchen area with no privacy from noise or activities. The second “master suite” has no closet, the TV is not hooked up to cable, and the mattress is very saggy and needs replacement. Lists a hairdryer that was finally found in main floor bathroom in bottom drawer covered with dust and painting debris. While searching for the hairdryer the top drawer front held on with Velcro came off and hit wife on the head. Gas BBQ middle burners had to be lit with lighter and there was nothing to clean the grill with. One set of placemats were so dirty and soiled they could not be used. The other set required washing before use. There is an overactive motion detector light constantly going on and off that shines in the lower bedroom. Bring your own games, there are none in the house.

The property was accurate in regards to interior of home. The parking was inaccurate no 2 car parking.... One vehicle sideways in driveway and the other was first come first serve parking on 1 side of street. The neighbor across the street had parked their vehicle in front of the property when I asked if it was their vehicle I was rudely informed yes and not moving it.. On the last evening there a family member parked in from of our driveway to retrieve items <15 minutes and a neighbor decided to leave a notice on the vehicle.....All over the house we were informed of crewfew and quite hours being polite to the neighbors. Saturday morning we were awaken to construction next door at 6:30 am we were informed by the workers were poring concrete.. and needed our parking spot.... Sunday thankfully no noise from neighbors But Monday morning before 8:00 it started again...... We more than likely would have found another place if we knew the parking, construction and neighbors were going to be difficult..
