Due to protests in Uyuni we had to cancel our 3 day trip to Uyuni. So we switched from another hotel to Camino Real and had excellent experience. A very nice place - clean, spacious and the staff are wonderful. Very nice food in the restaurant, breakfast is a huge and delicious buffet. I travelled with my sister, and we had 2 bedroom apt with 2 bathrooms and a huge living room. Full kitchen, not just a kitchenette and a dining area.

Comfortable base on La paz
The hotel in located little bit outside historical core, but is very comfortable base for family. The restaurant is very good. The hotel is older apartment converted to a. Hotel, so each tolm has kitchen, our unit was 2bedroom 2 baths. Spotless and the staff was extremely helpful. Access to downtown is either by walking. Cab (very cheap) or telerifico (cable car)
