In the hotel bathtub there was a spider, my daughter get scared and Expedia didn't tell me that they would charge me $50 for something that I donā€™t understand and they told me that they would return it 3 to 4 days after checking out. That was the night of August 31st and as of today, September 21st, they haven't deposited my money back. I've had to call a couple of times and now they tell me that I have to go to the bank to ask. I don't understand why I have to be responsible for getting my money back and the hotel doesn't care?

This is a clean and nice charming hotel in a nice part of the tourist town with ample dining options nearby. Positives are plenty of parking, spacious rooms, nice free breakfast and one of the negative is just one slow elevator (so people who are less mobile could be stuck in upper floors if something happens to the lone elevator). No alarm clock in rooms and the cable tv menu and remote is too hard to operate

My daughter and I had a reservation in South Bend for this same stay and had a horrible experience. The hotel was one of the worst I have experienced. We booked our stay with Holiday Inn Express for the weekend around 8 pm Friday evening and everything went smoothly! The parking lot was well lit, hotel was clean from the entry to our room. Customer service was very friendly. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again

The executive suite we stayed in was musty smelling. Unfortunately, once your sense of smell acclimated to it, you no longer smelled it unless you left then returned. Other than that, the staff and amenities were great.

Hotel company needs to not oversell rooms
My room was over sold and not available and I was required to take a smaller room that didnā€™t really fit my family like the one I had originally reserved in the system. Unfortunately it led to me getting little to no sleep and feeling uncomfortable all night. Elevator door was also fairly aggressive, it would close suddenly and quickly and hit my motherā€™s arm which has a broken bone in the upper arm, which led to a less than acceptable stay.
