Not a Five Star Experience
This hotel is 20 years old and shows it. Having visited it over 14 years ago at its peak. It was a true five-star experience. What you will experience is low staffing overworked staff who try hard to please guests. Flaking paint, stained carpets, old air-conditioning (sounds like a jet engine), dirty pool water, creaking lifts. On arrival you are left to fend for yourself. Room is not ready or complete. Cleaning staff do an outstanding job but are under staffed. There is no welcome package, no welcome drink (water) There is no help with suitcases. There is no introduction to the hotel, there is no help to your room to talk you through how it functions. Old fridges, TVs that do not have a satellite and showers that need an overhaul. Bedding is clean balcony is poorly, situated with permanent buzzzing noise. Staff are apologetic but are extremely understaffed. Not a five star experience just managing a shabby three star with Five star Costs. This feels like a hotel that has been taken over by a large organisation whose only interest is making money and not looking after customers. Very disappointing as I love the area and have spent many years previously in the hotel where it was an exceptional five-star experience.

Stayed in the presidential suite for a week. Really comfortable and spacious. The hotel is great and food in the restaurants is great but they are very understaffed. The poor staff are run ragged and some lunchtimes we waited an age. Not the staffs fault they were great but the management need to address this issue as it’s not an isolated incident it was every day. Bit that aside it was a great relaxing holiday and would recommend the hotel

Very clean place with plenty of space and had an early check in Staff are very nice and try their best for you,but terribly understaffed,meaning long waits for any kind of service Guests often wait to be served and then walk off In addition the AC was not working on the room,which made it very uncomfortable A few easy fixes and some more staff would name it so much better

Stayed her a few years ago and was expecting a great stay this time, however. No air conditioning! It’s in the rooms but not enabled. Looking at the reviews they say they don’t offer this facility? (Air conditioning IS advertised on the booking platforms. Ceiling fan not working, just for show. They obviously don’t have any security. A couple drunks singing all night at the pool side (below our window) when I say all night I mean ALL night. Stopped around 6.30am. Talking of pools, it was closed! Beds were excellent so it was obviously a five star many years ago. Looking at the hotel I would suggest it was once time share who have long left and the place is under new ownership. 3 star hotel

Good Hotel
The hotel is very clean & staff very nice. Stayed for four night's H/B. You need transport but is a very clean hotel, Evening meal was a set menu which was fine & the food was good. It is surrounded by villas and a golf course. I have a problem walking but found the hotel just fine ramps & lifts and the area around is pretty flat.

Hotel itself was beautiful, clean and ideally situated, the outdoor pool was absolutely freezing so no one went in from what I saw. Unfortunately service was shocking, asked three different receptionists and not one actually did what I asked especially when it came to air conditioning not working, asked if there was a double room as we were given a twin room

Beautiful Hotel and estate it was on, but wasn't informed outside pool will be off limits till May. limited choice in restaurant for Half Board - Slow service at Breakfast (Mañana) 4 Patio lights didn't work so couldn't enjoy large balcony as well as We'd liked Paid €8,50 for an 85p Toblerone from the mini bar New Director sat in Golf Bar frustrated at owners for lack of investment to make it exceptional Would still visit again (Without the Toblerone)

Recently stayed for 7 days at Ona Mar Golf Resort and Spa. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had a problem in our room with an unpleasant smell in the shower area. Once reported, this was dealt with immediately. The hotel is very well maintained. I used the indoor pool on a couple of occasions which was beautiful and very relaxing. Overall, a great place to stay with easy access to motorway, nearby towns and restaurants.
