Estrela da Luz Praia da Luz All day Sunny Apartment

Our luxurious apartment is situated in the private condominium of Estrela da Luz in the quiet village of Praia da Luz. It is regarded as one of the best holiday destinations in the Algarve and which have featured on many UK and Irish property and travel TV programmes including 'A Place in the Sun'. We bought the apartment for just that reason, our place in the sun and we have spent considerable effort in ensuring that it is furnished and decorated to the very highest standard of comfort. It provides a real 'home from home' experience for the ideal family or group holiday with every possible comfort and convenience provided including large Plama TVs, high speed wifi and underfloor heating for chilly winter evenings. The luxurious Estrela complex provides something for all with a choice of three outdoor pools, one for adults only, an Elemis health and beauty spa with jacuzzi, sauna and heated pool, fully equipped gymnasium and exercise studios with daily classes. Tennis, basketball courts and a children's' playground and club (in summer months) complete the facilities provided.

Staying in during your stay: If, like us you enjoy combining your holiday with a few days relaxing followed by some more action-packed days then Estrela da Luz provides something for all the family or group. There are ample comfortable sun loungers with shaded palm trees available for additional comfort. The Elemis spa offers a wide range of beauty treatments - try the half day package - totally pampering and great value. You can also chill out in the Hugo Beatty Bar which offers snacks all day up to 9pm if you don't wish to have a heavy meal. Live entertainment is provided on a number of evenings during the week and its a great place to meet up with fellow guests for a drink and a chat. The main restaurant, Calabaza opens in high season and serves wonderful food and is suitable for all the family. During high season the resort host a full Kiddies Club which is a must and they also provide babysitting service, if required

The surrounding area worth visiting: Luz is an ideal base from which to explore the Algarve and all within a 30 minute drive from the resort. For the young try Slide and Splash park at Lagoa. Visit the historic fortress at Cape St Vincent with views of the west coast. Take a drive up into the mountains at Monchique where you can try the natural spa and sample the delights of 'piri piri' chicken. For the shoppers you have to try Algarve shopping at Gaia or even take the local train to Portimao. From the marina in Lagos book a place on the Dolphin Safari and go in search of dolphins.Other trips include a Jeep safari, grotto/cave cruises and a day's diving instruction. Kids love the Zoo Marine which includes the opportunity to swim with the dolphins!!
lunch at Burgau's famous 'Beach Bar' or book the Algarve's top restaurant 'Casa Grande' a converted winery of a manor house 2km from Luz.

For the more adventurous: For those wishing to see more of the country, take a half day trip to Faro, or even drive a further 40km to Seville and sample the delights of Spain. A day or two day trip to Lisbon which is three hours drive is well worth considering but you might consider an overnight

Fantastic property, so spacious and beautifully furnished. Everything you could possibly need. The facilities of the complex are also great; 3 pools and a well equipped gym that our boys used most days. Great location - v quiet but short walk to shop, beach and restaurants. Huge balcony for a relaxing G&T after a day at the beach. Lil the host was great, very quick responses and so helpful with info about restaurants, taxi transfers etc. All in all an amazing holiday!

Beautiful huge apartment in a ideal location walking distance to beach and restaurants (although we always get taxis to burgau and salema beach which is not expensive) I would def stay here again. The owner always replied straight away with any questions before the holiday. Pool areas are lovely the whole place is kept immaculate.

Amazing apartment and fantastic facilities.
What an amazing holiday! The apartment is so lovely and spacious and the balcony that overlooks the pool has the sun all day. The apartment is so well equipped which meant we had a few lovely meals on the balcony, but also went to some of the gorgeous restaurants in Luz. We used the outdoor and indoor pools and even the gym, all of which were always so clean and well maintained. Our family of 5 had plenty of room and a really wonderful holiday.

The apartment was superb and had everything we could have possibly needed. It is the first privately owned place we have stayed where the towels, bedding and bathroom supplies were of such good quality, as was the plentiful terrace furniture, small things, but make a difference. Everything was very smooth at check in and check out and for late departures, the changing facilities at the indoor pool were excellent. Would highly recommend this property!

Wonderful apartment and very spacious!
We had a fabulous stay at Estrela da Luz. The apartment itself was lovely, clean and modern. It was also very spacious - the lounge and master bedroom in particular were much bigger than we were expecting. The kitchen had everything we needed and really appreciated Lil providing us with a cot and a highchair for our little boy. The only piece of constructive feedback I would give is that we found the beds quite hard and they could benefit from having thicker mattress toppers. Appreciate that's personal preference though, some people like a firm bed! Estrela da Luz is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the local supermarkets and restaurants. The resort itself was safe and quiet and as we went in April it was great having the heated indoor pool. Overall we had a wonderful holiday and will definitely be back, Thank you!

Le logement est très grand, très propre, bien équipé et offre même des extras (jeux, matériel et serviettes de plage) pour la plage très proche. Le propriétaire est très réactif. La résidence, fréquentée essentiellement par des anglais, est tenue de manière irréprochable et le personnel est à l'écoute et très professionnel. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette résidence, plutôt calme à cette période de l'année.
