Staff is always wonderful. The pool had algae growing up the waterfall wall. Tops of Lanai roof were full of algae. Lanai room bathroom are antiquated, need updated shower. Love the pool, but not real clean and clear plus the algae. Very comfortable beds. Windows of Lanai rooms glass needs to be replaced, updated.

Spa was excellent. Room was dirty upon arrival (hair, trash, and dust bunnies behind bathroom door, room had not been dusted in quite a while). quick towel service, friendly staff. Pools had dead bugs in water, and chairs/fencing covered in spider webs- more so than other properties I’ve been to in the area.

The building and room we had were not great. Our door was so hard to open and we had to put all of our weight into getting it open. The room needed some updates really bad. The ceiling tiles were stained, there were a couple articles of trash in the room and on the bed, we could hear someone’s tv through the vent in the bathroom, and our tv didn’t even work! The one thing that I really liked was the amount of amenities available. I don’t think I would pay that much money to stay at such a dirty place, though.

the only negatives that i can come up with are that the door to our patio would not work correctly and once it took a long time to get hot water. These items could be easily overlooked because because everything else was excellent.

I would definitely stay at this resort again BUT here's what you need to know... Resort is a out dated. We had a great stay as the people were WONDERFUL (staff and guest alike)!!! Room was dirty (spider webs & dust). Mattress was very lumpy and uncomfortable (both rooms). We lost water to the bathe due to a failing faucet and had to wait as maintenance was not yet onsite (security was able to bring a screwdriver & pliers & my husband was able to make it work – delayed our day). This is a non-smoking resort (not on your balcony, at the bars, or pool area – they do have a few cigarette deposits at the entries). Pool areas (indoor & out) are nice. Fire & Ice pool bar (love-love-LOVE Lenny) has great drinks and food. Roof top bar is nice and offers great views. Onsite restaurants were fairly priced (breakfast for 4 $55-65, dinner for 4 $130-$150). Julie at Breezes is wonderful and remembered our breakfast order from day to day! Resort grounds are nice but not well maintained. My husband actually fell through one of the stairs on the way down to the Marina. We notified management and it was blocked off immediately. Highly recommend bringing or renting a watercraft to see the lake/surrounding homes. ***Note: This is a dirty lake (i.e. full of tree debris (large & small limbs, leaves, floating dirt, etc.). If you opt to rent, I recommend purchasing insurance. A great area to visit with or without kids.

We have been coming here a couple of times every year for the past 18 years and we love the fact that it’s an Ozarks icon hotel and we know it’s holding on by a thread and don’t mind the datedness of it. This time, however, our shower, or rather, bathtub floor was oily and slippery, as if it had not been scrubbed, but it may be because there was very little water pressure in the shower. it defies reason that there is not one umbrella or iota of shade at the swimming pool, with the exception of the cabanas, which you have to rent. Because of that, we have stopped going to the pool. All of the umbrellas are down by the bar and lower level terrace, which at 1:30 in the afternoon were not being used at all. Each time we stay here in the summer, we are in hopes that there may be some umbrellas available at pool side. No such luck. Disappointing! Friday night drinks after dinner at HK’s, listening to Michael the Saxman was delightful.

The bathroom and bathtub were cover with bugs. There were dead bugs on one of the beds. This made me question the cleanliness of the rest of the room. The ceiling tiles in the bathroom were broken and rusted and I was unable to stand under the shower long enough to rinse the shampoo from my hair due to constant change in water temperature from cold to absolutely scalding hot. The building location was difficult to find for an after dark check in. The view of the lake is the only thing positive about this room/one night stay.
