A beautiful, cosy rural Agrotourism stay!
A really lovely rural hotel in the mountains. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, good parking by the room once you navigate the steep well signposted road up from the village. Beds were really comfortable with lovely clean being and so quiet, slept really well. Air conditioning and heating in the room was new and worked really well, very cosy. Nice short walk to the little gorge immediately up the road/track from the hotel. Dinner on the onsite tavern by the fire was lovely as was breakfast. All in all a great stay and good value. Recommended for a stay in the Troodos Mountains!
The included breakfast spread, very tasty!

Best host ever.
I booked the tavern 2 days prior to arrival. When I arrived around 4pm, I was surprised to be told that the tavern was supposed to be closed for the winter season. The host opened the tavern for us just for that 1 night we booked. The host was very nice. He called up his chef to get dinner prepared for us for 6pm and breakfast next morning. He ensured we had heat and hot water before he left the tavern to us at 9pm. Bathroom was a bit drafty at night when we took shower. But hot water was nice and hot. Wifi was poor. I guess we can't expect too much in the mountain. We slept early when there is nothing to do at night.

An absolutely lovely homely spot
Great place to lay your head for a few nights, very cosy yet spacious room. It has the only restaurant in the village but that's fine as it does great Cypriot food in an idyllic vine laced terrace. If you're lucky enough to get a room at the top of the hotel you'll have a lovely view of the surrounding mountains on yr balcony. Highly recommended tho if you don't like walking you'll soon get bored in the village. Also watch out for the phenomenally steep approach to the hotel car park.

Disappointed !!
We have booked a Double Room with Hot Tub (Jacuzzi) at the price of 82.00 EUR for one night. When we arrived at the hotel the Manager gave us a normal room with a shower. When I complained to him and I explained to him that we booked a room with a jacuzzi he insisted that the booking was for a normal standard double room (the price for this room was 65.00 EUR). When I showed to him my booking reservation he insisted that our booking was for a normal double room which is 65.00 EUR and that hot tub for him means a room with hot water !!!!! After arguing with him and showing one more time the reservation note he accepted to give us a room with a hot tub. In the night, when we went to use the hot tub we were surprised to see that the hot tub was not working since the shower tab on the base was missing. It was around 11:00 pm and there was no one in the reception to call and no any phone in the room to make a complaint and solve the problem. In the morning, just before the check out, when I express my complaint they told me that I had to call them to come and fix it !!! and if I want they can go and fix it for me. This was unacceptable from there site. Before they give a room to a client these must be checked and be in a working condition. What is the point to pay more for extra comfort and get nothing or to spend your free time to argue about these issues.

We were asked to pay 90 euros for breakfasts on arrival when I thought we had booked bed and breakfast. We stayed for six nights. Could have been my mistake but cannot check even now as does not say is or isn't included in the booking. On the second eve I was served a moussaka I had ordered that morning that looked like it had crawled out of the fridge after being there for a week. It was tasteless. Two of our group of three were vegetarians and the owner made it clear that this was a problem for him. I had to ask each night for a look at the menu to have any idea of what was being charged for the meal and was very uncomfortable with this.

Very peaceful stay
We had a fantastic four-night stay. The hotel is located in a village in the mountains. It is a very quiet and peaceful place with great home cooked meals including fresh fruit from the local orchards. The host is genuinely kind and helpful. The room is clean with good wifi. We thought we would have a quiet time enjoying the view from the balcony and chilling by the pool. But we ended up hiking and visiting the many tourist sites as there is lots to do in the mountain areas. If you like hiking, there are no shortage of trails and you will love it. Plus the view while driving on the country roads is just breathtaking. It was a great experience staying at Ambelikos; a traditional village in the countryside. Highly recommend!

One of our favorite stops on our Cyprus vacation. Very quiet, nice nature, good view. Would be perfect for cycling if your looking for hill workouts on mountain roads with little traffic. Run by a very nice and welcoming couple. Best breakfast omelette of our vacation! Can highly recommend a stay here!

Recommended hotel in the mountains of Cyprus
We spent one night at Ambelikos AgroHotel and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautiful, surrounded by many fruit trees and even has a small pool. The room was very unique and the view from it was great. We have not visited the village itself but it does not seem very interesting, so we were happy to have very good dinner at the hotel.

Beautiful hotel in a small Troodos mountain villag
The Ambelikos hotel was amazing. The hosts were very kind and accommodating, the location was in a somewhat remote mountain village that was a PERFECT getaway from the cities and resorts. The rooms were a good size with a wonderful bed and a great balcony with a view. I highly recommend you make plans to eat here during your stay as well. Every meal was excellent and prepared with great care, and served in the central courtyard under the grape terrace. I also got to watch various herbs picked from the garden before they were a put on my dish. Fresh and delicious! The hotel is also a relatively short drive to many hiking paths and points of interest in the mountains, so day trips to Troodos Square or the waterfalls or churches are easy.

Not as nice as the pictures
The hotel is very tired looking but it's situated in a beautiful place in the hills and the views are great. The style of the hotel is rustic but much of the furniture is outdated and worn. The rooms could be very beautiful but the furniture doesn't match and is very 1980's, and there are not 4 poster or wrought iron beds in each room as the photos suggest. We had a random bed in our room even though we had only booked for 2 people, and the shower door did not slide open/shut properly. You have to pay for every extra, including use of a fridge, and there is no water provided in the room. The swimming pool is absolutely tiny (the photos are misleading) and there's not enough room around it for sunloungers. Instead the sunloungers are located in a different area, laid out on pebbles/shingle that has weeds growing up through it, adding to the tired look of the hotel. The breakfast is a very sorry affair; between two of us we were brought TWO boiled eggs, a few small slices of toast, one large piece of salami cut into quarters, and a few thin slices of cheese. We had to ask for more eggs and were told they'd have to boil more for us specially (well, yeah). The orange juice is from a carton (even though it's an agrohotel) and the coffee is provided in packets to mix into warm water that's been standing in the thermos on the table since it was laid out. Overall, a beautiful setting and rustic hotel that could be so much nicer than it actually is.

Brilliant stay, beautiful charming rooms and the nicest most genuine, interesting, and helpful service I've received in years. Neighbourhood gets 4 instead of 5 as you do hear small road noise and some tatty buildings visible in the amazing view, but it really is a beautiful spot - check the photos!
