Close to start of New Walk which is a pedestrian walk into the town centre. Attractive bar and lounge area. Good breakfast with lots to choose from. Friendly and efficient staff.

the hotel was in a good position for the centre, we visited the cathedral and it was a 15 minute straight walk. the hotel was clean and friendly. the room was very comfortable, however, as it was one of the hottest nights the room was really warm during the night. i would recommend this hotel.

I certainly won’t be rushing back here unfortunately. Air con didn’t work properly, single window barely opened to let fresh air in. King size bed was 2 singles pushed together, both single beds had broken spring mattresses. Decor was dated and could do with freshening up. The staff were all very friendly and nice, and the food I had was very nice but the room just wasn’t great at all.

Gorgeous Hotel
I stayed one night to attend a gig at the Y Theatre - nearby the hotel. The room was ready on time. I was impressed by the room - although it had the name Rebecca on the room - not sure what this meant. The room was lovely with a good TV, easy to use shower and comfy bed. Would stay again.

Very comfortable stay
A lovely old building with lots of character, albeit finding my room was a little confusing initially as it is a bit of a maze! The room itself was very nice and the bed was extremely comfortable! Breakfast was a nice selection of hot foods, cereal, fruit and pastries and all the staff were very friendly.

Great place, would recommend and stay again
Stayed here for a night out at De Montfort Hall and it was perfectly placed. 10 mins one way into town for drinks and food before, and 7 mins the other way to the hall for the evening. Really nice walk too. Staff were really friendly and helpful, room was lovely comfortable and clean. Nothing additional we needed at all. Breakfast was lovely.

This is a lovely hotel very close to the train station. The area between the station and the hotel felt a little unsafe at night. The shower and bath were complicated to use and couldn’t get the b to fill without emptying at the same time. Dinner was good but hot breakfast was cold. Would stay here again as the staff were lovely and the rooms very pleasant

I have stayed at the Belmont many times. It has everything going for it. It is a 5 minute walk from the station,, it has a huge car park, and it runs along New Walk, the most attractive part of Leicester by far. The downside is that the Belmont needs refurbishment, but I understand the financial constraints. In particular the bar area needs an upgrade. The seating needs recovering, the lighting is dated - the side lamps are 1970s if not earlier. They have been tickled with a feather duster but could do with a deep probe clean to get out the layer of dust on the rotated tiles. This won’t cost too much but would make a heck of a difference. The carpet on the first floor is almost certainly from the swinging Sixties. Love it or hate it, I’ll be back. It’s the best hotel in Leicester.
