A1 accommodation, shame about the food…
I had booked a room for the wrong night but reception staff were very efficient and sorted this out very promptly. Our room was so cosy with chalet style decor, refreshments and good quality bathroom products. The bed was King size and really comfortable. The room was warm and quiet. We had dinner there but were disappointed. Service at the bar was slow, menu offerings standard, and the food was served lukewarm. Such a shame! Will definitely come back for the accommodation!

Our check in was seamless. The receptionist was welcoming and nothing is too much trouble Our room was absolutely beautiful and the doggie welcome pack and bed was lovely touch We ate in the restaurant last night. All staff were attentive and friendly The food was superb. Well done Everyone. Brilliant stay ,will definitely book again

My only observation was when using the walk in shower there’s no shelf in there for shampoo and conditioner.As my girlfriend has a serious back problem she would have to leave them on the floor,she would not be able to pick them up,just a little corner shelf would be most helpful Thank You

Relative visit
The hotel was lovely, the rooms and stairs were very hot. To warm really. Food and menu is excellent. Choice of Rum vast! Staff seriously could not do more for us. We will stay here again.

Stayed here as it was a convenient location, without knowing it was 'famous'. Comfortable room, great shower, bed could have been firmer. Staff very friendly. Great atmosphere in the bar and the food was excellent. It was quiet when we stayed (early December) but I can imagine it could get very busy with coach parties. Museum was worth a look for £4 even if you aren't a fan of Daphne Du Maurier.

Sticky wooden tables in the bar. Food very average for the price. Room ok. Bed comfortable. Bathroom redone. Looks lovely but tap is not working easily and please teach your cleaners to close the bathroom door when cleaning. It’s filthy!

This is the first time we’ve stayed here and will definitely go back . Great value with a lovely relaxed atmosphere . The room was beautifully clean with several touches that took it up to another level ( well done to the staff ) my husband was extremely impressed with the fire precautions. His words ( the best he’s ever seen ) he’s now retired but his job was a fire prevention officer with the fire brigade. So great praise to the owners for the safety of the building staff & customers..we will be back
