Such a great little place with great restaurant/pub close by. Laundry facilities were a lifesaver though you need coins. Great activities for the kids. We really wish we stayed here longer.

Lovely old property that has been renovated for guests. Laundry facilities, iron & ironing board in room. Reception staff friendly. We were in a basic room which was large, Queen & single bed, . However room was quite dark, no face washers, at times loud noises from above when kegs were rolled into the tavern area, shower head wouldn’t stay up.

We loved the building and feel of going back in time. Loved the kitchen supplies for the room and the little touches such as ear plugs. Lamps for the bedside. The rooms look well decorated and homely. Very clean sheets and towels. Plenty of room in the bar fridge for own food and microwave for cooking some instant meals so handy for families. Thanks for making a lovely atmosphere.

My only disappointment was no room service. This is so important because we found ourselves with no where to eat as everywhere closed so early mid week in Launceston.

The property was very clean and had everything we needed. Perfect location right next to the gorge. We went mid week when penny royal was closed, I'm not sure if the noise from the park would be annoying if you stayed over the weekend. The backdrop of penny royal added to our experience.

Absolutely no reason for you to scan and retain drivers license as a requirement to stay at the property. This is a huge privacy issue. If you want to check ID at check-in, fine. But for you to demand to scan and retain drivers license details is simply unacceptable.

The unit we were in was very dark even in daylight. The floors creaked badly and we were unable to close our bedroom door because it was so far out of plum with the door frame. The insulation on the wiring for one of beside lamps was defective to the extent we did not use it in case it caused an injury. We had five seniors in our group and we all disappointed with the unit. It is a shame because the location is good and the exterior of the units fit with the Cataract Gorge Location.

We were disappointed with our accommodation here. When booking, nowhere did I read about the stairs to get to the rooms. We found these very hard, especially getting our bags up there. The room had hardly any natural light either so we didn’t really want to stay in the room. Nothing was open there either. room was quite clean but we wouldn’t stay again

We were pleasantly surprised by the space, cleanliness and amenities provided in the room. The staff were very helpful and parking was free. We were having difficulties with carrying our luggage down the stairs and a staff member helped us and even loaded our luggage in the boot of our car. I would quite happily stay at the Penny Royal Hotel & Apartments again on our next trip.
