Welcome to the Riverside Farm Stay! Tucked away in the semi-rural landscapes of Riverside, you'll be surrounded by native flora and friendly wildlife, giving you that true Tassie experience.
The home features 2 living areas, 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Relax with everything you need, such as a smart TV and board games for entertainment, a toasty indoor fireplace and a bathtub for unwinding.
Enjoy a stroll in nature while exploring the gardens, gather 'round the firepit, or fire up the BBQ.
Space
As you arrive, take a moment to soak in the surrounding picturesque landscapes. Meander through the beautiful gardens and step inside to discover a modern and spacious retreat, filled with all the comforts you could need!
To your right, you'll find the master bedroom, housing a luxurious king bed, a spacious walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite with a walk-in shower.
Across the hall, a cosy living area awaits, complete with comfy seating, a smart TV and a selection of board games for a fun night in!
Venture into the open living-dining area, where a well-appointed kitchen awaits with modern appliances, an island bench with seating and all the essentials for whipping up delicious meals. The space is warmed by a crackling fireplace, providing cosy comfort during chilly months.
Discover a laundry equipped with all the necessities, a bathroom featuring a walk-in shower and a large bath tub for a relaxing soak. Plus, there's a separate toilet for added convenience.
The remaining three bedrooms offer snug accommodations with a single, king single and plush queen bed.
Outside, the adventure continues with BBQ fun on the patio or gathering around the firepit for marshmallow toasting and story telling. Take a leisurely stroll through the gardens and admire the array of native flora and fauna, perhaps even greeting the friendly sheep grazing in the nearby paddock. Please be mindful of the electric fences and the nearby body of water.
It's truly the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway, where relaxation and natural beauty abound!
Guest Access
Guests have access to the property at any time via a secure lockbox. Please note there is a large blue shed next to the house, it is rented by our friend who is an artist, so don’t be scared if you see him walking around!
The Neighborhood
Riverside is a unique and peaceful suburb, sitting on the hillside west of Launceston. A self-contained suburb, Riverside offers a large shopping complex including a well-equipped Woolworths, gift shop, a pharmacy, a bakery and more. Nearby you will find the Tailrace Centre, Kids Paradise and a recreation area located alongside the Tamar River.
Riverside is the gateway to the Tamar wine region. Some places to note include Swinging Gate, Velo wines, Moores Hill Estate, Tamar Ridge, Stoney Rise, Rosevears and the ever-so-popular Timbre restaurant.
There are several walking tracks found within Riverside and its surrounds including the Tamar Island Wetlands nature reserve, the Notley Fern Gorge and the Tailrace Park. Within these tracks you’ll be treated to a variety of different landscapes and tracks, an abundance of native flora and flora species and historical landmarks. Enjoy some of the most beautiful urban wilderness, right on your doorstep. Such tracks include the North Esk Riverside walk, Notley Fern Gorge and the Tamar Island Wetlands nature preserve.
The Tasmanian Zoo is located in Riverside, which exhibits over 100 different rare, native and exotic species of animals. Watch the Tasmanian Devil at feeding time, interact with a wombat, hold a slippery snake or play with the active meerkats!
Only 10 minutes from the city, it’s an easy drive to town. Launceston City has a wonderful variety of shops, cafes, eateries and bars, as well as the City Park which is known for its beautiful oak tree gardens, playground for the children, a plant-filled conservatory and cheeky snow monkeys.
Whilst in the CBD, make sure to visit the Cataract Gorge. A spectacular natural formation where you can enjoy long and short walks, fresh water swimming basins, the world's longest single-span chairlift and vibrant peacocks! An additional, unique way to experience this attraction is via the Tamar Cruise vessel, which cruises through the waters that carve between the rocky formations.
Getting Around
To get the most out of your stay, to be able to explore all that Launceston and its surrounds have to offer, a car is recommended. Additionally, there are many alternative options listed below:
METRO BUS SERVICE: Metro bus service provides transportation throughout Launceston and its surrounding suburbs each day. To access timetables, routes, and prices, please visit the Metro Tasmania Website.
FREE TIGER BUS: The bus travels around the city. There are bus stops located nearby outside Princes Square Park and the Launceston General Hospital. It is easy to spot – painted with the black and brown stripes of a Tasmanian Tiger! For timetables and routes, please see the Metro Tasmania Website (Free Tiger Bus).
INTERCITY BUS SERVICE: Tasmania has you covered with a variety of intercity bus services to make your city-to-city travels a breeze. If you're in the North West region, which includes Burnie, Wynyard, Devonport, and more take a peek at the 'MerseyLink' bus service website for their timetables. If you're heading to or from Launceston and the southern spots like Hobart, make sure to swing by the 'Kinetic' website. Please note that 'Kinetic' has you covered for some routes to and from Devonport as well.
ELECTRIC SCOOTERS: You will find purple electric scooters scattered around Launceston. To access these, please download the App ‘Beam’. Please wear the helmet provided and be safe!
BIKE RENTAL: Roll Cycles at 145 Wellington St, Launceston offer bike rentals with options to suit most riders. Whether you are taking a leisurely stroll around town or taking on our world-famous mountain bike trails, Roll Cycles have you covered.
UBER: Uber is a popular form of transport used by many locals and tourists. To use, simply download the ‘Uber’ app on your phone and book a ride to your destination.
TAXI: Local taxi service can be found on the internet.
AIRPORT SHUTTLE: The airport shuttle service can be found on the internet.
Notes
Please be mindful to avoid the boundary fences as they are electric. Do not touch.
The driveway and the green shed on the opposite side of the property are shared with a friendly tenant.
There is a nearby body of water right next to the property. Please ensure children are supervised at all times.
Our sprinkler system operates automatically, activating once per day between 1:00 am and 1:30 am. We kindly request that you refrain from turning it off, as it's essential for watering the ferns daily.
While you're surrounded by the beautiful bushland of Tasmania, you may encounter some friendly insects, bugs, and native wildlife. We kindly ask that you refrain from feeding the wildlife bread or similar foods; however, they absolutely adore carrot peelings!
Please note there are exterior cameras placed on the outside of the house/property facing the front yard, driveway and backyard areas. This video footage is not shared and is recorded for security purposes only.
There is no reverse-cycle or central air conditioning or heating at the property; however, there are free standing fans, oil heaters and a toasty indoor fireplace available to keep you comfortable.
