1st Floor:

- Living area with a very comfortable leather sofa, free Wi-Fi throughout the apartment, TV (with Netflix available), CD player, DVD player (we have a selection of DVD’s for you to choose from), pellet burning heater, floor standing fans.

- 2 Bedrooms, one with a king size bed, the other a double bed, large wardrobe and drawers, views overlooking the old mill and the mountains.

- Bathroom with shower / bath, shaver socket and hairdryer

- Fully equipped kitchen – with electric oven, ceramic hob, kettle, microwave, toaster, food mixer, fridge freezer, washing machine, cooking utensils etc.

- Dining area – with table and chairs, double doors with Juliet balcony, plenty of cutlery, plates, dishes etc.

Interaction with Guests:
The apartment is part of a 200 year old house; As we live on the ground floor, we will be here to greet you and, are happy to answer any questions or help you with your plans.
We know that many guests arrive here after the shops have closed, so if you need any items of food or drink to keep you going, then please let us know and we will do our best to get them for you.

The Village:
The village is situated in the Lecrin Valley and is a mixture of old and new houses. We are within 5 minutes walking distance to Talara (sometimes mistakenly called Lecrin) with small supermarkets, a good butchers, restaurants, bars, banks, garages and a pharmacy.
During the Summer there is also an open air swimming pool only 2 minutes walk away.

The Area:
- Granada is 20 minutes away by car, with plenty of relatively cheap, safe, parking.
- The coast is 20 minutes in the other direction, with a range of beaches, from large with bars/restaurants on the beach (chiringuito’s), to small secluded coves with crystal clear water.
- The start of the Sierra Nevada National Park is 5 minutes walk from the house and we live in a valley full of orange, lemon, almond, walnut, avocado and pomegranate trees.
- The Alpujarras area with its famous “white villages” is a 30 minute drive away, through winding mountain roads, deep gorges and the remains of Moorish castles.

There are some laminated maps in the apartment to help you plan a day out, or of course you are more than welcome to ask us about any ideas you may have.

History:
Travelling south from Granada in the 7th Century the Moors reached a vast, fertile valley encompassed within a bowl of mountains. The land had everything they prized – good earth, free-flowing rivers and the natural fortification of the sierras. Captivated by its beauty, they named it El Valle de Lecrín – which is commonly interpreted by the locals today as “Valley of Happiness”.

Rates:
Prices vary depending on the season and the number of guests. The calendar shows the correct prices for 2 people. We are always interested to hear from people who would like to rent for a month or more and quite open to discussing favourable rates.

So lucky
This is a wonderful place in a wonderful setting. There is so much to do particularly if you want to be active. There is tourist places, tranquil places, beaches and mountains. Such a beautiful part of the world, made better by the help and support of Rob and Lorraine. They are permanently lucky but we will be also next year, when we will fully sample all the delights of this truly amazing place!

The property was excellent.....very comfortable, clean, we’ll equipped. Genuinely a lovely experience. Hosts were excellent......there if you needed them but also very discreet. We stayed a whole month and felt immediately ‘at home’. The location of the property was great. A few mins from the motorway (to get to the coast and Granada in 25 mins), and at the centre of the beautiful Lecrin valley. An all round excellent experience.

Fantastic house in an ideal spot for a cycling holiday.
Ideal location for cycling the sierras, 25 mins from granada and the coast provided plenty of cycling routes. The house was very clean and much larger than the the photos make out. We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly return!

Rustic but charming in a wonderful non tourist location
This was a super property where we stayed for a number of weeks in April 2019. The weather wasn't particularly good but it has a "pellet" fire which kept us warm. It has wonderful features and Lorraine and Rob went out of their way to make us welcome and supplied with information. Lecrin valley is half way between the coast and Granada so there is loads to see and do. The local people seem a bit distant at first but they are simply wonderful. We loved it

Quiet Village Retreat
My husband and I just spent two weeks in Rob and Lorraine's beautiful two-hundred year old Adalucian home. The rooms are filled with light--through traditional shuttered windows and doors with Juliet balconies in the south facing bedrooms. Authentic tile, brick and stone floors, plants and personal touches add to the loveliness of each room. Furnishings are very comfortable, and everything is provided to live well inside and outside--cook meals, work (good wifi and large tables inside and outside), do laundry, relax, hang out on the roof terrace. We walked miles every day directly from the house...exploring the nearby villages and the valley below. Stores, bars and cafes are in walking distance. It was easy to explore the Alhambra and Granada, villages high in the Alpujarra and the Mediterranean coast--all within 30 minutes from the house. The village has very narrow winding streets and Rob met us on arrival to drive our car to the house. Then both he and Lorraine helped carry our things up to the first floor! They were wonderful, hosts. We want to come back and stay longer!!

The perfect village house experience
Our family of seven, two adults and five children, stayed her for nearly two months! It was everything we had hoped for and more. The location is remote and quiet, but just for what we were looking for. We had hoped to find a small authentic Spanish village to get to know the culture and meet some people. This was the perfect place for us. The village is beautiful and the people very friendly. We loved having a bread man deliver fresh bread daily just at the corner. The walks in and around the village are lovely. There are a lot of opportunities for hiking and nature excursions. The hosts, Rob and Lorraine, were kind enough to show our family a fantastic hike just ten minutes outside of town. The church around the corner rings the bells every hour and the old mill across the street offered art classes while we were there. It was as charming as one could imagine a village in Southern Spain. The house itself suited our needs perfectly. The bedrooms are large and the kitchen, dining and living room have a nice open floor plan that allowed us to eat meals, do homework and hang out together comfortably. The house is clean and has all the amenities that you could want. The apartment up top was fun for our older children and the rooftop terrace was beautiful with breathtaking views of the village and the mountains. Also, I should note that although it is a small village, it is in a perfect location for mini day or weekend trips. Our family made a couple of trips to the coast, and one up to Guadix for some additional cultural experiences. Of course it's also very close to Granada. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in a quiet authentic Spanish village.

Gezellige en authentieke woning
De woning heb ik als heel gezellig en authentiek ervaren. Ik voelde er direct thuis. Een zitkamer en eetkamer en keuken, die met elkaar in verbinding staan en twee slaapkamers, een douche met toilet. Alles is goed verzorgd. De bovenste verdieping bevat een fraai terras met voldoende zitgelegenheid. Mondújar is een klein dorp, maar als je gaat wandelen kom je als snel uit in Lecrin, waar de nodige winkels zijn en restaurant. Kortom een ideale plek om vakantie te houden, Granada te bezoeken en de Sierra Nevada.

Rob and Lorraine's place is highly recommendable. The apartment is very cozy and there is absolutely nothing missing for the complete holiday. We enjoyed walks around in the small town and we also enjoyed walks in Sierra Nevada National Park

Lovely flat in nice town.
The house was excellent with all the facilities we could have hoped for. Situated in a nice little Spanish town, only 5 minutes from main motorway, connecting Granada and Malaga. We found this to be a brilliant place to locate oneself, with Nerja being only 25 minutes away by car. Rob and his wife were very accomodating, they stayed up till 00.45 to welcome us!! All in all a fantastic experience, one I'd be happy to repeat. David Thomson

La casa ha sido perfecta para lo que necesitábamos estas vacaciones, Rob y Lorraine muy atentos a cualquier necesidad, tanto en casa como para conocer los alrededores. La casa está muy bien localizada, en un pueblo bonito y cerca de la autovía, por lo tanto en poco tiempo estabas en Granada, la alpujarra o la playa, que más se puede pedir! Los propietarios no hablan español pero no ha sido ningún problema, nos hemos entendido bien. La cocina está bien equipada, las habitaciones cómodas... este alojamiento ha sido un acierto.
