There is amazing deep clear water for swimming and fishing. The fishing, wildlife and flora are contiguous. Stay in a place with some history. The cottage was originally the Canadian Customs house. The original name of the house was “Thelma". It was then owned by an author named Eleanor Austin and referred to as the Driftwood for 20 years. The Thelma is featured on TripAdviser. The new name is the Jemh en al Rio. We tried to keep the originality and charm of the cottage while adding some modernization. The Cottage boasts 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 kitchen areas, a feature coffee bar for all your coffee, tea and smoothie needs, a dining area for 10 or more, a large sitting area with astonishing views of the river and a large recreational room with pool table, foose ball, dart board, arcade and lots of games. There are 3 TVs, wifi, satellite and DVD players. Water is drinkable. The entire place offers AC. Parking for 2 cars. Overflow parking available and a public boat launch. The cottage is in the heart of the 1000 islands with access to all that the St. Lawrence offers. Access to the 1000 Island Parkway with 50kms of walking/ biking trail, a few minute drive to one of North America’s best golf courses Smugglers Glen. Take a Gananoque Boat Tour just down the road. Explore the 1000 Islands National Park. Take in a play at the Gananoque Playhouse or check out the Casino. The bridge to USA is just a drive away hop over to Alexandria Bay or Clayton. Their a variety of riverside restaurants and pubs nearby.
