We had a one night stay in order to catch an early ferry. The hotel called us a taxi, which was very close to the port. The pool seemed nice and the rooftop area good for seeing the sunset. The only odd thing was the shower opened up into the room, so be sure you’re comfortable with whoever you’re staying with.

I believe they told me I'd been upgraded when I checked-in, but my room had a great view of the business harbor if you leaned out over the rail, and I paid for a harbor view (like I had seen in the photos from the pool). More like I was downgraded. I also have serious questions about whether the AC even worked, if it did, there was no way to adjust it, or even feel it working. The location was ok, but you're going to hear a lot of air traffic. I think I'll examine my options next time.

Excellent property close to everything in Heraklion. The staff are helpful and friendly and always attentive to your needs. The breakfast buffet is superb with a great variety of food and the staff are ready to assist if and when required. I highly recommend the Aquila Atlantis.

Short one night stop over in Heraklion. Hotel was lovely, bed very comfortable and breakfast was very good. The only comment I would make was the bathroom wasn’t completely separate to the bedroom, separate toilet but the shower and wash basin were in the bedroom. Would have preferred a bit more privacy

Amazing hotel for a stay in Heraklion. 5 minutes walking distance from the city centre and very close to the port. Breakfast is beyond delicious with so many choices. Staff very helpful and polite. Rooms are big and comfortable. Excellent choice for a stay in Crete.

Overall the hotel was very nice, clean, within walking distance to the port and to the city center. The restaurant was very nice. We had the breakfast there one day and it was a standard, nice hotel buffet. I suggest eating at one of the local restaurants around the lion fountain…it’s more traditional, more delicious cuisine, and a larger meal for the same price. We had dinner there a couple of nights. The lamb was amazing. Hotel location is close to many dining options and shopping in the city center, close to one of the hop on/hop off bus tours if you choose to do that. I think there’s also a bus station right on the corner. Just outside of the hotel there is a weird abandoned building. It didn’t feel unsafe, I just thought it was kind of unsightly for the ambiance the hotel is trying to create. However people bring their dogs to the grassy patch adjacent to it, so that was redeeming as we love animals and that seems to be a little makeshift dog park. Our coffee maker in the room was broken and kept leaking. Not a deal breaker but it annoyed my husband. The roof top pool is nice but there are limited lounge chairs so once a pack of young dudes checked in, lounging by the pool wasn’t an option for us.

The hotel was excellent in all regards, including the restaurant. Short walking distance to the archeology museum. 10 min walking to the ferry boats. Breakfast was sumptuous and fresh. The only exception was the noise at the near by harbor. We stayed a total of 6 njghts. On three out of the 6 nights, there was loud music, some kind of party, at the near by harbor that lasted well after midnjght.

We got the junior suite on the 15th floor and it came with a balcony view across the port. Quite nice. Room was very comfortable. Great buffet breakfast with an omlet station!! Had the best fresh honey too. Hotel is about 10min walk from the Lions Square and all the great restaurants. Front desk was very helpful and always arranged a taxi for us (upon request).

They were very nice here. My mom and I came in with a trillion pieces of luggage and terror from driving in the HER streets, ha, and the nice guy there parked our car for us (and took it out the next day) and helped with everything. Rooms were great, staff was nice, breakfast was delicious. Wonderful stay.

The pool area was a bit “run down” and the room was very small - we had a 3rd person in the room and the cot was very small with a very uncomfortable bed.
