I rated this experience so low because how can you enter the property which you have been charged for before you step foot in the door when the host provides you the wrong key code? We rented this home on a very busy weekend. We felt fortunate to have booked it until we stood around at midnight trying to find a way into the house, we finally booked a motel room. Once we got into the motel I finally received a message after logging into the VRBO account once again before going to bed. This is where a number was finally given to me to enter. Prior to that they told me the key code was the last four digits of my phone number. This number provided to me was NOT my phone number. Had I been provided a number to get in, rather than the last 4 digits would have solved the issue. We would have entered the home on the first try. This is a very ineffective way to have guests enter the homes. Numbers may change, or they may provide the wrong number, which was the case with me. We never stayed at the home and never got our money back. I was also told by one person the following day that they would credit my account. The next person I talked to said, “They should’ve never told you that.” Still no refund.
