This cottage gave us a wonderful rural setting on a horse farm (mares and foals nursery and boarding). We enjoyed the long gardened viaduct-style drive, manicured lawns, horses and foals everywhere, cows, a peacock, several penhens, and small whimsical sculptures. It's very quiet with lots of birdsong.
The cottage itself was well outfitted - we enjoyed the interesting Kentucky artifacts (even Mrs. Butterworth) and pictures of equine winners. Our family of 4 was very comfortable in the living room and kitchen and had solid internet access for the TV and all our devices. Climate control was excellent.
As noted in other reviews, the bedroom setup is somewhat unique. There is a wonderful private primary bedroom and bath with a great shower on the upper level. The other bed upstairs is in an open loft and exposed to downstairs. Bathroom access is either through the primary bedroom or down the stairs to the second bath. Downstairs there is a small private bedroom (full-size standard mattress). The third bedroom has no doors, simply curtains over the doorway. The arrangement worked for our family, but some might find it awkward. Also, all but one of the beds had a foam-top mattress that one in our group could not sleep on because of back issues - they got the small bedroom with the standard mattress. Keeneland and the Kentucky Horse Park is about 30 minutes, Midway is about 20, Wallace Station is about 15.
