We liked how convenient the location was. The staff was very helpful. We didn’t like that there was no air conditioning and we couldn’t open our window due to noise and exhaust fumes.

Excellent Hotel, Highly Recommended
This is an excellent hotel. I would definitely stay here again. The breakfast is delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is very nicely located between the Baixa and Alfama neighborhoods and is very close to some excellent restaurants. We had a great time here.

Liked the buffet breakfast that was included. Bed was comfortable, shower okay. Room was quite small. The outdoor terrace was very nice with tables and chairs. You could have a drink there. Nice view of red roofs

This property is a fun boutique style hotel with a lot of character. It was selected because the room had a balcony with a city view. It did not disappoint. The breakfast buffet and menu were really tasty. The employees could not have been nicer to us. We really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who likes a smaller hotel with a lot of charm.

I really enjoyed my stay as a solo traveller. I felt safe in the hotel and the surrounding area, it’s also really convenient to walk to many of the key areas - Carmo Convent, Commercial square, Lisbon Cathedral and Castle. Rossio and Baxio-Chaido metro stations are walkable from the hotel. There are also many good restaurants and bars nearby the hotel. I also spent time in the bar with a book, it has a range of drinks and light snacks and it was a really good vibe with friendly staff. The only drawback was on the housekeeping front - I would make sure to ask for your bed sheets to be changed as this didn’t happen at the specified timing, but the rest of the room was cleaned. I also really appreciated the amenities - bottled water, kettle and cafetière, shampoo and conditioner (does not happen at every hotel) with body lotion and wash too. As someone with super long hair, the proper hairdryer made a difference too. Overall, I would stay again at the hotel.

The Esqina is a great little hotel if you want to be in the Baixa region and close to all the action. It is so convenient and walkable to most everything; restaurants, shopping, cobblestone streets, tram cars, buses etc. etc. The staff at the desk are very friendly. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and tarts in our room. Our balcony view of the city was great! The only complaint we have is that we didn’t like the dark wall paint in our room and the hallways. Not very inviting, and the lack of countertop and shelf space made it tricky for a 4 day stay and all our stuff. The beds were ok.

Good location, clean but tiny room
The standard room is pretty tiny, but the location is very convenient to restaurants, transportation and sights. We were very grateful we were allowed an early check-in at noon after a morning arrival from a long flight from the US. The hotel has an eclectic and somewhat awkward design with a step up at the entrance to the lobby bar then another step up to the reception area, then 4 steps up to the tiny elevator. This can be quite uncomfortable if you have any mobility issues or if trying to maneuver multiple suitcases, which we had since this hotel stay was prior to our departure on a 3 week cruise. This hotel (or at least the standard room) is more suitable for someone traveling light and not intending to spend much time in the room.

Excellent communication from staff before stay with information about how to find hotel / how they could help. Early check in was allowed. Comfy bed, good shower.
