Situated in a beautiful village and on the banks of the River Elwy, the Black Lion Hotel couldn’t be in a more tranquil setting. After an excellent welcome, I was a shown to my very large room with first class amenities. My only grumble would be that the mattress was probably in need of changing but so nice to have fluffy pillows! Before dinner, I became engaged in good old fashioned pub conversation with some locals. Dinner was nicely presented and extremely hot (no complaints there!). The litmus test is: would I return. In the case of the. Back Lion Hotel the answer would be yes.

Lovely setting by river Elwy. Made to feel very welcome by the staff. Nice big clean room. King bed and a good nights sleep. Breakfast was well prepared and unrushed. Would recommend Black Lion and would certainly stay again.

Great stay!
Great flying visit. We arrived and had dinner which was lovely - great quality and price very reasonable! Rooms are lovely and clean, comfy bed & everything you need. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, shout out to John who was extremely accommodating when it came to our breakfast as we were leaving early the day of check out! Thank you ☺️

This hotel room was the best appointed one I have stayed in. Really careful consideration had gone into what you may need to make your stay more comfortable & it was. Excellent mirrors, hot water bottle, toiletries, storage and more. Very friendly service, great food, wonderful vegetarian option. Ample car parking.
