Revisiting uni, but don't stay in hot season
the first day it was 85 degrees outside and where we stayed on the sun side of the 6th floor was stifling hot. The window opens only a crack at the top and there is no bathroom vent fan, so it was unbearable--too hot to sleep until 2am even dampening our night clothes. We felt so ill the next day, we couldn't swallow much breakfast and had to give up our sightseeing plans until afternoon. We thought to ask if there were loaner fans and were given one, but wish it could have been situated by the cracked window. The fan helped, and the weather cooled, so the next night we slept better. It was farther from train stations than we thought from the reviews, and being across the river, there were less choices for transportation than we were used to on previous visits to london. We read wonderful reviews about breakfast. You queue up down the hall until you reach the cafeteria, where workers scooped your hot beans, a meat choice and an egg choice onto your plate. . The fried eggs were sometimes embedded with shells and the scrambled eggs unappetizingly the texture of soft custard. Then there were cereals and drinks at two long counters, self serve. the long tables were packed elbow to elbow with about 100 people, mostly families, eating and talking various languages. The food was institutional cafeteria and plentiful. The workers seemed tired and even annoyed at the hundreds of guests.

Great option for a step up from a hostel. The room was nice, bathroom was clean, and breakfast was a great plus. It was easy to walk to Underground stations nearby. Not many options for food late at night right nearby, but places were open a short walk away.

I stayed in a single en-suite room. It’s basic, but was spacious and clean. The breakfast was superb! Such a wide variety of hot/ cold options to meet any of your food wants. Staff was super helpful and nice. Closest transportation about 1/2 mile. Several grocery stores and food options very close by as you also have access to a small kitchen with refrigerators.

Exceeded our family expectations. I initially got a lot of grief from my family about this booking being in college dorm rooms—but they all agreed after our stay that it was an excellent deal based on price & location. Beds were fine & rooms were clean. No AC, but it was comfortable enough with windows open (and we stayed on an hot night). Included breakfast was great. Only complaint overall was that shower was pretty tiny. But we would happily stay again.

This is the BEST place to stay! This is everything you could want in accommodation in London. A 2 minute walk to the Globe Theatre and all of the restaurants along the Thames. Blackfriars or London Bridge Tube are also a short walk away to conveniently catch the Tube, buses or the train to wherever you need to go! There is an amazing full English breakfast every morning and the staff amazingly and efficiently handle the high volume of school groups and tourists all with big smiles. I cannot rave enough about this accommodation. ** Fair warning, I did have $$ stolen from my room (which I stupidly left, not knowing that there is housekeeping). Unfortunately, when reported to the manager was told she would get back to me, and she didn’t. After contacting the accommodation again I received an email without much of an apology and was told to “have a nice day”. All of this aside, it is a fantastic place to stay, just remember to take $$ and valuables with you.

Highly recommend staying here. The location is unbeatable- we walked all over London leaving right from our room. The hot English Breakfast is amazing, everything you could want to eat- fresh fruit, yoghurt granola, eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, pastries, the list goes on! The rooms are basic but when you spend the entire day and night exploring all you need is a bed, and the one in the room is clean and comfy! Best accommodation on our trip!
