Tatty but clean room, difficult access via phone
Bed and single duvet good, but pillows rubbery. Parts of shower wall were coming away, blood red colour scheme unpleasant. Hot water temp in shower changed to cold when (presumably) another room used their HW. Plug socket missing its switch. Lastly, checking in late, with no staff, the 'Unlock' key on phone did not work, possibly because it was not clear where to use it, so had to enter a lot of personal information on an large white-background screen, while others watched, privacy was impossible. All infuriating so late in the evening.

Ho hum...
Although the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was nice, our overall experience wasn't great. Checking in while standing out on the street in the London drizzle using a large touch screen, entering personal information in full view of anyone passing by was not cool. Turns out there was a desk right inside and a real person, who finally buzzed us in to complete the checkin process. These rooms are minimalist in the way that means they'll supply the bare minimum to get you through your stay. There was nothing glaringly terrible, but I wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel was unmanned when we came to check in & it took a while hard to either gain entry or contact somebody to check us in. Breakfast room was inadequately manned. Tables were uncleared/unwiped.

Staff were not on the desk at the advertised time. Messages from the hotel were all in German BUT, when I got there you can check in on a screen so it all worked out. Very clean but nobody around. I guessed the tapwater in the room was ok to drink but had no choice really! I seem ok! Breakfast really limited if you’re a vegan but somehow I really liked the place and Putney itself is walkable and good fun.
