TV was not set up well.
The location and the room were excellent. However I could’t turn on the TV and was struggled for a while as there is any staff to ask and chat robot didn’t work well. It was because the cable of the TV was not plugged in and the switch of the power on the wall was not on and hidden by the TV. They should improve the facility management so that I did’t miss the Andy Murray’s doubles match.

Not a great hotel
No housekeeping service. What am I paying for? The sink leaked water directly on the floor. After I stepped in that water and touched the towel rack I was electrocuted. My code stopped working at precisely 11am instead of customary 11:15am, so I had to find an attendant to get my bags from the room at 11:02am. Are you serious? What a terrible experience for a recently renovated hotel!

This is thus far one of my worst experiences staying abroad. The rooms are extremely small; the pictures in Expedia showed a much larger room even with a sofa n side. There was definitely not space to add a sofa. They took pictures using the mirror to make the room appear larger. False advertisement. If you want your room to get cleaned you had to stay for at least 8days, or otherwise pay a £30 cleaning fee. But even when I decided to pay the fee, they never came! All connection is through a WhatsApp AI, and once you’re transferred to an agent they were often unhelpful. No more towels than those provided at first. Details like the safe’s lock didn’t work so every time you opened the closet, the safe would open too. Little space to put your clothes. The shower had some issues too. Customer service really terrible. If you are looking for a nice and comfy place to stay in central London, you can definitively get better hotels for the outrageous price I paid for this place: $1,800 all included for 5 nights. Never again!

Great hotel, team and location!
We had an amazing stay here. The team were super friendly and the room was lovely. The location was perfect and central if you are looking to explore central London. There is a Gail’s bakery next door and we enjoyed breakfast there with the added bonus of 30% saving because we were staying at the hotel. The only tiny criticism was that the one mirror in the room isn’t near to a plug or light so not ideal for doing hair and make up but otherwise a wonderful stay and we would definitely book again.

When I originally booked this room, the hotel was under a different management company/group. When the change was made, I received multiple emails/comms regarding the change which I appreciated. There was no change to my room or booking. The room was small but had all the proper amenities. We only stayed one night but had we stayed longer, I think the size of the room would have made a negative impact. We had an issue with our A/C but using the WhatsApp, they were able to guide me through the steps to get it up and running. I also used the WhatsApp to see if my room was ready for check-in and to check out, which was super convenient.

While the location was very convenient near train stop and famous attractions, the hotel lacked simple amenities. The hotel failed to mention the rules and their operations. They do not clean your room or take out the trash until after seven days of stay. They do not give you more water or clean towels. We had to ask for more towels. The bathroom is compact, so it would difficult for tall persons. The WhatsApp automated system was helpful in explaining things right away but not everything was correct.

Frustrating lack of human staff, but good location
I stayed at this hotel twice as I was traveling around the UK, and this is my impression: Numa Bloomsbury is great for young urban professionals, tech savvy minimalist travelers, and/or introverted folks who desire very straightforward hotel stays because the hotel philosophy is you will have no contact with any human during your stay. It's all done through their site and whatsapp (auto menu responses, not human), so good luck if you have an urgent question or need a person to answer what specific on-site questions you may have at that exact moment. There is allegedly no staff on site or will no longer have staff on site - the hotel transitioned management from Bedford Corner Hotel (a boutique hotel) to the Numa/Sonder luxury chain in April 2024. Much of it was even bumpier because of the transition and confusion over what the online service would tell us versus reality. You are told you need PIN to enter allegedly unmanned building and room, but we weren't assigned one day of and I panicked, and couldn't reach a real human to tell me how to access the building until a full hour later (there was, surprise, staff on site). I wanted to store luggage - but no lockers despite what staff said on whatsapp. Istayed at this hotel because notice of transition came too close to my stay for me to be able to find another option. Numa would not be my first option in future trips as I find it important to be able to interact with staff on site for logistical and personable interactions.

Don't Waste Your Money Here
Very small rooms, the floors all creak really bad and you can hear whenever anyone moves in the rooms next to you or above you which is really annoying. Barely any space to walk around in the room. The bathroom door is glass so there isn't any privacy if you are sharing with someone you aren't intimate with, and even so, lack of privacy isn't comfortable. The hotel changed ownership between the time we booked and when we checked in so there was confusion with my booking and someone else's booking with a similar name. There wasn't a reception area, but thankfully someone happened to be there when we arrived or we wouldn't have been able to get into the building. I was supposed to get a code sent to me after checking in online but that never came to me even when the email I got from the hotel said it was urgent to check-in before I arrived. They state that someone is always there but they weren't there late in the evening or when we were needing to check out in the morning. Luckily we prepaid for the room in advance. The only good thing about the hotel was the high quality of the towels and the location to restaurants and transportation. I wouldn't waste your money on this high priced hotel as you don't get much of anything from it.
