When I was looking to book a place to stay I noticed the high review score for a 2.5 star hotel/motel so thought maybe this was a hidden gem. I don't think it's a 9 but it's not bad.
Pros: location is convenient. Easy to get to Los Angeles and back. There's a Target a few blocks away and a Michael's craft store right next door which is useful if you need anything. My room was right next to Michael's and I don't think anyone was awaken to noise or anything.
Breakfast was typical eggs, sausage, bagel, toast, make your own waffle and fruit. One day they had egg/sausages sandwiches instead which I liked. They refilled things promptly.
The bathrooms are newer. The floors were tile. Room with 2 queen beds was spacious enough.
Cons: The bed seemed kind of saggy in the middle. The bedding was old and I noticed the bed had stains on the side. I didn't dare to check the rest of the mattress but it looked old.
Our floor appeared to be dirty. My wife dropped a tissue/baby wipe and it picked up a lot of black dirt/dust. The safe was covered with dust.
The desks and furniture was a bit banged up so looked old.
My wife says she wouldn't want to stay again. But personally if you want an affordable place just to crash this place is a good choice. I'd give it 3.5 stars.
If management is going to change anything - change the old mattresses first. Others mentioned it but there's a big gap underneath the door so possibly add something there.
