Staff friendly especially concierge. Would have been nice to have been told we couldn't use the pool as we were room only at the beginning of our stay as we had planned to go swimming the day after the wedding. The room was very nice with plenty of space. Nice comfy bed. Food was good and the drink was reasonably priced for an update market hotel. The bar staff need to be trained more on cocktails as they didn't know some basic ones. We had to Google it for them. I think it was a Black Russian we were after. The external of the hotel is looking tired in places and of need of some basic maintenance. All in all a nice stay but feel use of the pool should have been included in the price of the room. So a little disappointed.

On arrival we went for lunch in the Champagne bar, we ordered sandwiches on brown bread and 2 pots of tea, the fire alarm went and we were sent out to the front of hotel for 5-10 minutes, on return to the bar, our tea and sandwiches were sitting on the table, the sandwiches were wrong, ( white bread!) we sent them back, had the Luke warm tea and once correct sandwiches arrived we asked for fresh tea and were given the same tea pots with same teabags and just topped up with hot water! The waiter could not have been more uninterested in us the customer service was absolutely terrible! We were then put in a room that was like a furnace was very dark and was just beside the spa so the noise was unbelievable! We had to ask for a change of room! Spa was very nice! Dinner was also very nice and service not too bad but not brilliant, however the service at breakfast was horrific! The girl serving coffee, made a face when we asked for top ups and I had to wait 15 minutes for a pot of decaffeinated tea! Will not be rushing back!

Lovely setting shame about the breakfast
The location and setting was absolutely lovely and the some of the staff were really trying to do their best and were very friendly. The main building is looking quite tired in places. Breakfast was really disappointing and cold, we had to ask several times for utensils to serve the food as there weren't any for things like butter, jam etc. Please make sure the attention to detail is there and staff are properly trained.

Over Priced
This is an average hotel. It has a large golf course and good spa and gym, however if you are not using them the hotel is very average which is very overpriced. My hotel room I had to go back outside to get to it which was painful as raining. Room was small and wallpaper peeling. Bathroom was old but had be touched up. Only came to this hotel as the Thyrington Club Hotel was fully booked.
