Smoking rooms / filthy / poor quality food
Paid for a deluxe room was given a smokers den that absolutely stunk, changed to another room which was above the bar so I had the fortune of listening to drunks outside till late at night. The carpets were stained utility’s and furnishings extremely dated and worn out. Restaurant serves cheap nasty cuts of meat for extortionate prices I almost thought I was in Dublin with a pint of guiness over £8 !!!! Oh yes you have the luxury of sitting amongst food stained walls floors in the restaurant. Bar was understaffed impossible to order drinks. This place has gone down hill allot!! The only saving grace is the gym is exceptional and has plenty of equipment.

I have never slept on such uncomfortable soft spring beds in my life. Honestly the worst. The rooms floor was terribly dirty and the walls were extremely marked. I never complain and I always just accept but this was something else.

We stayed only for 2 nights, as we were visiting RHS Tatton Park we found the food in the bar was better than in the restaurant as it was more relaxed, and had a nice courtyard to eat your meal in.

The hotel gym facilities were not available after 6.30pm and hotel guests were not allowed to use the SPA facilities. The hotel in itself was reasonably presented, but looking tired. The room i stayed in was modern and contemporary and the bed was super comfortable. However the lighting was too dim to work on a laptop and the TV remote control didn't work with the TV, which made it difficult to change channels and amend the sound. The breakfast was ok, but choice of fresh fruits limited and no porridge available, the staff were not overly helpful, advising to sit where i liked and the breakfast is self service and let me find my own way around the breakfast service.

The hotel is in beautiful surroundings but the room was dated/ in need of attention- marks on walls/ dirty curtains. Our room was right above the courtyard so noise went on until gone 2:30am.

Room was very comfortable, check in and out efficient most of the staff were very pleasant. Only one soured this part of the experience. The service levels were below par, two busy bars and lack of staff to cope. Given that this was a preplanned wedding it should have been resourced better.

Hotel will end up really great. But going through refurb with rooms. You get a new one it’s a great experience, get an old one not so great. First room was full of flies and had to move, 2nd room better. Used this hotel loads for work and stayed backed in the room with flies and they had sorted it. Great feel restaurant and great spa.

Booked deluxe double room (Rm 239) and although room was spacious and bed comfortable, decor was tired, and bathroom was very poor and not in keeping with a 4 star hotel. Room was around 300m to 4oom away from reception (including 2 separate lifts) and if we had known, would have requested a nearer room as I have a disability and struggled. Also, dining experience service was poor with a fair bit of negotiation with restaurant staff as to whether they could accommodate us and 2 guests when place was not busy. Whilst eating meal, tried to order more drinks and was told to go to the bar and serve ourselves. Only after insisting that we would prefer table service, did the staff oblige (appreciate that they may been understaffed). Sleep was interrupted for several hours by very noisy / angry / shouting guest (probably wedding party) until 1.30am in the morning. Car park at front of building littered with glasses from guests the morning after. The Spa facilities were good but only wanted to take swim at a cost of £49 per person. I transpires that I could have got this at much lower cost, had I booked with room. Overall experience was very poor comparing to other 4 star hotels in the vicinity such as Rookery hall and Carden Park.

Reception was busy when i arrived, no clear instructions where lifts were or how to get to my room, my mobility isnt great so not helpful with the hike and stairs. Lifts should be sign posted alot better so easier to find. Not enough condiments in room, no water, and no room service. Room was clean though but expected more from a 4 star hotel. Surroundings and building were lovely though
