My husband I stayed at this hotel 10 years ago and we enjoyed it. This time we went with our kids, mother-in-law and cousin, and we were disappointed. The hotel is outdated. The carpet of the hotel and the room was dingy. The ac unit was so loud that I had trouble sleeping.

The waterpark is dirty, half the stuff is boarded up, no breakfast even though they advertise breakfast, mold on my shower curtain. All around disappointing.

Rooms were as described, not updated but also not terribly outdated. Room was clean, but well used. Carpet was pretty warn but overall the stay was comfortable. Beds were excellent and the lakefront room with a balcony was excellent. Beach is fantastic and the provided pool towels and chairs makes going out very easy. Water park was dissapointing. Large water slides were not operational (but I knew that from previous reviews). The kids pool was very fun, but very dirty / sandy. Also I found it very hot / humid and crowded despite there being not many people in it, there was really no good place to sit. It was a little dissapointing not having a microwave in the room (also already knew that, but wanted to repat it), and the fridge, althought it worked was pretty small and the freezer never re-froze ice packs. I get that mackinaw that time of year is expensive, so having a beach front and water park room the price was justifiable, just nothing went above and beyond my expecation.

For the price this hotel was ok. The location was nice, the beach was descent and the room size was good. The hotel didn't feel clean. The bigger waterslides were shut down, that was disappointing. My 2 little ones slept on the pullout bed and you could feel every spring. It was crazy but thankfully they are light. I would not stay here again but if you need a good price and it's a quick trip, its a good choice.

The staff was amazing and the rooms were clean. The beach was great but it was sad how other people left their trash in the beach. Didn’t use the pool, a lot of children.
