Pros - relatively convenient to MAD, easy walk to subway, super nice staff—I couldn’t book a female only room but the staff put me in one and gave me a top bunk at my request (thank you!), room quiet, bed and bathroom looked clean, well-lit road to hostel, cheap, looks new.
Cons - I won’t stay again for 2 reasons: 1.horrible mattress in bunk 3 of room 7- sags badly and is very uncomfortable. I think it’s memory foam with dementia, and I assume all mattresses are the same. 2. There was only one guest in the room when I arrived, but the whole room really stunk! I had to wear a Covid mask to be able to sleep. I suspect the problem is due to poor room design —8 or 10 beds in room 7 with 4 of them crammed into a walled enclosure the size of a walk in closet, which is situated inside the room and walled off from the window. Probably designed for privacy but the result is stagnant, smelly air.
Recommend they replace the pillow and mattress in bunk 3 or at least flip it over, spray Oust or put some charcoal in the room to absorb odors and open the window during the day to get some fresh air in there.
This could be a really nice hostel with those problems fixed.
