To make the long story short. Hotel was overbooked and the rooms I booked wasn’t available. Dominican guy at the front desk made everything better and upgraded us to 2 connecting rooms everything great so far, not much to do in the hotel just a small little counter in the lobby with grab and go snacks, but whatever I wasn’t planning to stay in anyways. First day we only got one of the rooms serviced by housekeeping, okay fine I didn’t care but the issue was that now both rooms had no body wash, I requested this multiple times during my day and only got it on the last night, we showered with shampoo every day. Back to the second day both rooms were serviced (still no body wash) but the connecting doors were locked and the safety lock of the main door was placed in one of the rooms (meaning my mother in law’s room was inaccessible) we requested the doors to be open multiple times through the day nobody came until we came back from dinner at night and a security guy was sent upstairs he was there with us up until 3 am trying to open the doors because nobody knew which key it was. Poor guy he was calling people and nobody would tell him about the key. He ended up getting a wire making it into a hook and trying to take off the security lock from the front door( we were supposed to check out that morning) and we couldn’t even pack the night before. The night security guy made sure we had a late check out at no extra charge, I’m glad he was there and made the best out of a situation

Deceptive advertising

We booked a superior room. The pictures of the room we booked did not reflect the room we received. Our room on the 18th floor and looked similar to a roadside motel. "Experience style in downtown Manhattan with an upscale eco-certified stay" the synopsis says. The hotel claims to be 4 star. Our first night was 2 star. The room was super spacious with exceptional views. However, the soap in the bathroom was unwrapped and sitting in the shower soap holder. The complimentary shampoo was almost empty. The duvet looked as if someone had been sitting on it recently. When the covers were pulled back it was unmade, as if someone had been sleeping in the bed and simply pulled the covers up. When making a bed in a hotel, it is very noticeable the detail taken to make a bed to any star standard. It was very clear someone had been lying in this bedding. There was a stain on the mattress protector. The night manager had already arranged to move us to the room we had booked (as per the photos). on the 42nd floor, this room also super spacious. The facility fee 'to be paid at property' as stated on hotels.com is all I have had to pay and nothing more. It was stated as USD 105. The hotel added tax. No where in the booking did it say plus tax. The night manager was wonderful and very empathic to our disappointment with all we talked about with her and is a credit to this hotel. If you do book this hotel please lower your expectations. I hope your experience is more enjoyable than ours.

Good location but needs updating

This is a very outdated hotel with no in-hotel amenities, however they will charge your credit card $300 a night extra for incidentals/pre-authorization hold. The heater/AC is not easily regulated so you are going to either be very hot all night or wake up freezing. I had to request multiple extra blankets due to the freezing room, although the blankets they give you a re the thickness of a bed sheet. For the pros of the hotel, the housekeeping is great and the lady on our floor was super nice and helpful. The bag check and doormen were also helpful and very nice. The location was good, and a direct line to uptown, but be ready to spend for rideshare/taxi rides.
