Manukau winery accommodation

Decent location, well appointed room but a little tired, amazing breakfast buffet! Top 10 in our 70 countries thus far. Room, lounge, chandlier restaurant all could have been a bit cleaner (especially compared to the rest of NZ hotels and restaurants which are typically spotless!). We arrived 15 min before 3pm and couldn't check into our room, so they took our bags and we had lunch. We checked in with them after eating to say we were going for a walk, NO PROBLEM they said, we'll certainly take your bags to your room, enjoy. 3 hours later we come back to no bags on the room. We went back downstairs to check, they can't find them?! Five minutes of searching they do, offering to call someone to take them up, no way! The place was packed with a wedding or something going on, no doubt it would be another hour if we did that. After 24 hours in transit just to get to NZ we needed fresh clothes! They dropped the ball there.

Excellent Value. Close to some good eateries. A nice change from other places we have stayed that were dearer. Only negative is we had no cooling other than a Dyson unit and opening the windows. Maybe not putting in heat pumps is going to save the planet but that eco stuff is at the expense of being comfortable. Would go back though.
