Mold and Mildew in a 0 star dump
The reviews convinced me this place might be nice, but when we arrived the place gave me the feeling it was not what was offered online. We left our bags in the broken down suite and tried to find a beach to enjoy part of the day. When found a local beach that had lots of oil spills and the water had lots of oil sheen so my family was not going to get into the water. We went back to the dump and parked on the street since the free parking was a fenced in area half a block away and not monitored by staff. The place is should be inspected by health officials and Expedia should delist this place until it passes real inspections. The shower stall had the smell and look of mold and mildew so we closed that bathroom and didn't use it. The place is not fit IMHO for any family. We called Expedia to complain and they too tried to call the dump but the folks there just kept hanging up according to the representative we spoke with at Expedia. I went online and found another hotel and book the remaining time with them. We went down to the lobby and informed the staff we were going to check out in the morning due to the place being a dump and we were told to come back in the morning to speak with the person who speaks English as they would not be able to help us. In the morning we checked out and we wrote on the exit slip that we left because of a multitude of problems with this dump. Other families were leaving as toilets were backing up into the showers... Health code folks

Room had great view and on the ocean
Hugo was the night manager and was extremely helpful to us. He spoke excellent English and was willing to do all he could to make our stay enjoyable. The girls who worked there always had beautiful smiles and made us feel welcome and at home during our 2 weeks. People who come to Mexico have to expect different things than the US and Canada. It's the hospitality and the people, not the room, that makes us return.

I will not go back to this hotel.
The hotel it's really old and a dirty, the staff is not the most helpful and sometimes rude. I will not go back to this hotel. If you can afford to spend a few more bucks stay away from this place. The only good thing about this place is that It's placed in one of the best parts of the city.

hotel close to the beach/ employers very rude.
I arrived to the hotel at 12 pm because in my reservation documents the check in is 1 pm. but in the registration office there is a sign and the check in is 3 pm. I waited for the room 3 hours. the employers are very rude. the room had telephone but it was out of order. definitely I don't recommend this hotel. it is awful. the first day the housekeeper wrote in a napkin"THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIP"" and put IT on my BED.

Hotel is good for sleeping, that's it, but cheap
The beach is not suitable for swimming, the surf is super strong and comes up over the sand so you can't lay out. We bought cleaning supplies at Walmart because it wasn't very clean. It's not close to a lot of things, you'll have to walk/bus/taxi. There were no three-prong plugs so I had to sit and charge my laptop in the lobby most days. They lost internet connection frequently (I like to check email/news/messages in the mornings but would need to ask them to reset the modem). The shower floods, get an extra towel to sop up the water. They give you soap and two towels upon check-in, nothing else. The A/C works well, the beds and pillows are hard, there's a good size fridge in the room, and the TV even had a few English channels. The pool is clean. Staff were lovely and helped us out, holding our bags after we checked out until our flight arrived and opening our wine with a knife because we didn't bring an opener. The hot water always worked, the bathroom smelled really bad just bring a candle or some incense. We bused and then taxi'd down to La Boquita beach to swim and lay out. You'll be approached a lot to buy things. Senor Julio Tacos and El Caballito restaurants were fabulous. Senor Sushi was not.

OLD BUILDING WITH GOOD AIR CONDITIONING.
THERE WAS A BIG ROACH IN OUR UNIT- WHEN WE COMPAINED THEY SPRAYED THE COMPLEX AND THERE WERE ALOT MORE OUTSIDE. THE STAFF DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH, BUT THEY WERE FRIENDLY. THE ROOM NEEDS TO BE REMODELED AND HOLES IN THE BATHROOM AND KITCHEN WALLS NEED TO BE PATCHED AND PAINTED. THE BED SHEETS WERE OLD, BUT THE INTERNET AND T V SERVICE WAS GOOD.

Budget Hotel on the Beach
The best part of the hotel was the staff. Every single person on staff, Armando, Karen, Arturo, Mario, and the housekeeping were very friendly and helpful. They even helped me make contacts to accomplish my business. The hotel itself is an older property, definitely in the budget category. By US standards it would probably rate 2 stars--Think of an older beach hotel in Santa Cruz. But don't forget, it IS right on the beach! You can drink a cold beer from your balcony or poolside and watch the waves breaking. They were painting the exterior a nice lemon yellow while I was there, and clearly work to maintain it. The hotel location is very convenient, roughly in the center of the resort area, and a few blocks from where most of the major shops and stores are located. You may find similar hotels for the same price, but you won't find better, and friendlier staff you definitely will not find.
