Four seasons of fun! Beach days, campfires, snowmobile, snowshoe, x-country ski

This is a 1 bedroom fully furnished upper level apartment with an extra loft area bedroom above the main living area, the carriage house sleeps up to 4 people. This space is very cozy and small (20X30ft). It is off the sandy shores of Lake Superior (approximately 250 ft. from the water), which has incredible sunsets. There is air conditioning and wi-fi for your pleasure during your stay, however we do not have cable tv. We have a slow recovering well on and old salt aquifer that has some tannins in it so we ask that you use the water consciously. For your drinking and cooking we offer a 5 gallon water cooler. There is a grill and fire pit to use when the beach is too windy for fires. This is a family friendly place to stay, most dogs are welcome with permission however we do charge a non refundable $75 fee per dog (no more than two dogs at a time.) We are located on the main snowmobile trial network in the U.P. so you can park and ride right from here! We have a few backcountry ski trails right on our property so bring your skis or snowshoes! Located 7 miles east of Harvey, 12 miles east of marquette and 29 miles west of munising. The U.P. is known for snowmobile and Skiing fun! We are about 15 miles from Marquette Mountain ski hill. There are miles upon miles of mountain biking and hiking trails just outside this wonderful spot. Come stay here for your next adventure!!

Great location for exploring Marquette/Munising!
Property as described! Robin and her family live in a separate house on the property but the carriage house is completely private and cozy. 15 minutes to downtown Marquette and 30-40 minutes to Munising/Pictured Rocks. We came for the fall foliage (we were a little on the late side; Robin said the second weekend in October is best), but we still had a lot of great color and hiking.

Cabin Memories
I used to stay at Robin’s property when I was a kid with my family. We loved coming up to vacation in this beautiful place and visit with Robin and her family so very much, that we continued to come back for many years. I reconnected with Robin on social media a few years ago, and found that the quaint blue carriage house was still for rent. I booked a week long stay for my daughter and I, and we came up for our visit toward the end of August, 2024. She and I had such wonderful time, my favorite trip to date! Robin and her family take excellent care of their land and cabin, and it truly shows. The carriage house was very clean, organized, came with helpful amenities, and was overall a perfect fit for us. The location is amazing as you have access to various different activities nearby. We did the Pictured Rocks tour, explored waterfalls, climbed the rocks at Presque Isle, traveled to the Thunder Bay Inn in Big Bay, saw the Ore Docks, went sight seeing, and shopped around downtown Marquette and Munising. One of my favorite things to do is walk up and down the Lake Superior Shoreline of Robin’s property, where there are beautiful sunrises, and sunsets. We looked for cool rocks and enjoyed the breathtaking scenery. I could not recommend a better location and person to be your host. I cherish this place, and hold it close to my heart. Thank you Robin, for allowing us to add more wonderful memories to our lives. We will be back for many years to come!💜🌲🌅🌊

Convenient location for exploring the UP
Situated between Marquette and Munising, this carriage house was the perfect place to crash after long days of breweries, waterfalls, and hiking. There is an upper loft perfect for younger kids and one bedroom with a nice AC unit. The living room had two decent couches that our dog loved to sleep on. The kitchen was a little small but enough room to cook. There was also a deck balcony we would end every day listening to the waves. We had easy access to the lake with a short walk from the house. Robin was a great host and provided everything we needed along with tips on all the recommendations.

Our Paradise Vacation
We absolutely loved EVERYTHING about our stay! Our stay far exceeded our expectations! Robin was an amazing hostess and shared many things to do and see in the area. The cabin was impeccable. Our teenager and friend loved their own personal space in the loft. The deck and lakefront were perfect for stargazing and relaxation. Our dog Maisie loved being able to roam freely and have a friend to play with! We look forward to our next stay! So beautiful and peaceful.... everything we could have asked for and more!

Great Location for the price
Robin was friendly and prompt with communication and any issues we had. The kitchen is a bit small for a formal cooking space and there was a lack of a decent knife for chopping ingredients, (Id recommend prepping at home and bringing the ingredients up if you are set on making a meal there) other than that the propery was as advertised and we were able to do plenty of hiking and brewery tours during the day and wandered to the beach to watch the stars over the frozen lake at night.

As a family we enjoyed our stay at Robin’s lovely carriage house. It was everything we needed to recharge and relax. She and her space are gems. The soaring eagles above as we departed was icing on the cake. From time on the beach, the deck, the fire pit, and woods it all will be cherished family memories. We hope to return again, thank you Robin.

Wonderful
Robin keeps the place clean and there was a surprising number of items left in the pantry for use. The property is pet friendly and our dog seemed very comfortable. The beds were comfy which is always a plus! Robin and her family were fun to hang with for the afternoon; we enjoyed them! Tons of great activities to check out close to the cottage and the beach was absolutely beautiful. Robin and her family did a wonderful job with this property and hopefully we'll be up again soon!! ❤️

Just the break we needed
Where to begin. The absolute beauty of the lake and the property reassured us that we had made the right decision. The host Robin was absolutely a great host. Any question we had she answered. Any place she recommend was the best. If you go ask her about the Cajun Restaurant she sent us there and the food was great. It was just so nice to veg on the beach or take the short trip into Marquette or Munising. We had a fabulous time. This place is definitely on our do again list. Thank you again Robin.

Breathtaking!
My husband I spent 5 nights ,4 days in this cozy carriage house. Everytime we took the short walk to the beach my breath was taken away! The views are incredible, to the sunsets to just watching the water/waves roll in! We went to Marquette and shopped and ate and looked around . Then went the other way to Munising , took a cruise and viewed the Pictured rocks. Seen waterfalls and then went to Miners beach and Miner's Castle! This was absolutely gorgeous, just have to say you can't take a bad picture! Thank you to Robin for letting us stay at your place and giving us a vacation we will never forget! The only thing I wish we would have done was to have a fire on the beach, but we are old, lol and was getting settled in right after the sunsets!

Comfortable Carriage House on the Shores of Lake Superior
My husband, adult son, Aussiedoodle and I loved our stay in Robin & Tom's comfortable carriage house! Although our 6' son had to walk bent over under the angle of the ceiling, he told us it was the best bedroom he had stayed in during our travels in the UP! The carriage house is clean, well-appointed, with comfortable furniture. The kitchen is tiny, but certainly adequate for our needs! We loved the front deck with the grill, fire pit with chairs to the side, the short walk to a wonderful beach on the shores of Lake Superior, the quick drive to amazing restaurants and breweries in Marquette, but most of all the welcoming hosts! Robin gave us so many excellent recommendations, and we loved meeting her family. Their family dog Maya played in the yard with our dog. They had a blast! The carriage house is perfect for 2, fine for 3 (with an accommodating tall 3rd), & perfect if the 4 includes children who can safely climb the vertical stairs. The house is so clean, and the location perfect. Come enjoy the wonderful hospitality in this beautiful section of the UP!

A Gem of a Place!! Wonderful Hosts!!
It was our first holiday in over a year and it did not disappoint! We really loved the place.. Home was clean and cozy. The pantry was well stocked up , the restroom was clean and the bed was comfy!! Fire pit with firewood next to it (amazing campfire under the starry night sky) and a grill on the patio... Robin who is the owner had let us know about the tap water and we took enough drinking water with us and she provided a 5 gallon water bottle on a dispenser. Robin and her husband are amazing hosts.. They were gracious, super accommodating and very friendly.. They left for camping over the weekend, but they made sure that we had everything and were comfortable.. They told that we had the beach to ourselves 😌😌 and that was the highlight of our trip , the beach was Super clean and private.. We enjoyed our long walks during sunrises and sunset and met occasional neighbor who were very friendly.. Our dog had a blast as well.. This was his first time on big lake and he made the most of it by barking on the waves🌊 😂😂 and occasional dips in the lake 🙂🙂.. overall we had a great holiday and are really glad we picked Robin’s home and we want to go back there soon !!!!

Pleasant place to hide away
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the house was a bit roomier than expected. The bedroom is a little different than pictured -- the bed has been rotated and has a nice end table and lamp next to it. The window alcove has been converted into a closet of sorts so that you can store your clothes and luggage. There is a lot of cool art throughout the house along with some vintage items, like the big trunk under the TV. We took advantage of the nice fire pit and the beach with our dog. Most of the cons were minor. The toilet is in a tight area and some of the furniture could use stabilizing (the table next to the couch by the loft stairs in particular). The beach access is a bit steep and sandy due to erosion all along the shoreline but is short and still easy to access. You can see where the other houses had their stairs washed away. We had it to ourselves most mornings. This is a good place to stay to see the stars at night and to take early morning beach walks. If you need more stuff nearby I suggest staying in Marquette, which is a 20-minute drive away.
