Great location - all key sights easily accessible with frequent and cheap local buses for things further afield. Great breakfast options nearby and a plethora of restaurants to suit all budgets. Suites are very well appointed - ours included a lovely balcony - and are just a minute’s walk away from the very busy Vieux Port area.

We stayed at Maisons du Monde - Marseille for the last 2 nights of our recent trip to Europe. Access to the hotel was great, easily accessed from the Vieux Port Metro station, which importantly, had escalators. The hotel is beautifully decorated, with rooms having various decorating themes. Our room was spacious enough (we'd booked a superior room) and clean, the bed comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was modern, with a wonderful shower. We had the buffet breakfast on our final morning (we had an early train back to Paris), and the breakfast cook couldn't have been more lovely, cooking eggs to order, warming up Croque Monsieur, nothing was too much trouble. The guest lounge is a great space to have a drink in, or to work remotely from (if you were working), with the option of lounge seating, or tables and chairs.

Looks like a 4 star hotel with service of a hostel
When making a reservation for the suite, the hotel will send you to another location (several blocks away from the waterfront) and the location that is confirmed on the receipt. When we questioned them about this, we were told we could stay at the hotel location at an additional cost. This is very misleading. Management confirmed that we still have the services offered by the hotel- however the room was not serviced and the TV was not working and it was too far to walk back to reception late at night to arrange for the TV to be fixed. No phone in the suite. The suite was very nice however, better off booking a private apartment at half the cost. Hotel staff made no effort to remedy.

The breakfast was very good and staff very amicable. Please ask your staff not to recommend the restaurant Miramar; it was so expensive and the food was terrible. We went to other restaurants half price and the food was delicious and great service.

We had a great experience staying here. Since we stayed in the apartment suites, which are separate from the main hotel, we didn’t interact with staff during our stay, though they did walk us to the property upon arrival. Be sure to request any housekeeping needs or extra towels/robes in the morning, as hotel staff don’t have access once housekeeping leaves for the day. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would definitely stay here again. The suites were clean, well-maintained, and the location was perfect—right in the middle of everything.

We were pleasantly surprised at the size and the amenities of the place. Gorgeously decorated in a mix of Art Deco and Tommy Bahamas. Right at the Old Port, in the shopping pedestrian, markets, cafes and great restaurants within a couple of blocks.
