Mai Tai. Experience the Real Hawaii . Sea Sand and Sun away from the crowds

2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, with additional loft. Sleeps 6. Non Smoking.
Welcome to MaiTai.

Mai Tai is a bright airy living space with vaulted ceilings that give your holiday home a spacious feel.

The kitchen, with granite counter tops has every gadget and appliance you will need. Fridge, dishwasher, range, and garbage disposal are included. The kitchen alcove houses a stacking washer and dryer.

Blender, food processor, rice cooker, many Pyrex and corning ware dishes are also provided.

The larder is well stocked with herbs and spices, oils, and vinegar.

Paper towel are provided along with cleaning supplies.

There is plenty of comfy seating in the spacious open living area which has all the modern technology you would expect in a superior yet affordable vacation rental. All rooms have open beamed vaulted ceilings.

The living space opens to the large yet private covered Lanai that is furnished with a teak dinning set seating 6 and 2 steamer loungers with comfy cushions.

The covered lanai allows you to enjoy being outside even during a passing shower. Also, there is a distant view of 2 mile long Papohaku Beach.

The lanai is also accessed from the master bedroom which has a very comfortable King Bed, and an en suite with double sinks set in granite counter tops, toilet, bath and shower.

During the 2015 remodeling the master bedroom was separated and insulated from the living area giving you complete privacy and absolute sound proofing. This is the only home in Ka Nani Kai in which the master bedroom is totally private and not open to the living areas and loft bedroom.

The second bedroom has a Queen bed and adjacent bathroom with toilet, sink, shower, and granite counter top .

The third sleeping area is a loft, accessed via the spiral staircase from the living area. It has two single beds and is great for older children.

All the rooms are cooled by commercial quality super cooling ceiling fans and the trade winds.

Bathroom and pool towels are provided.

2 Boogie boards available on request.

Cooler bag, 4 beach chairs, and roller board to get your " stuff " to the beach.

2 tennis rackets.

MaiTai is located off the main road close to the pool and spa tub with the best tennis courts on the island .

You can park right outside MaiTai.

Garbage and recycle are close by .

The community BBQ is by the pool .

The pool and grounds are immaculately maintained by the ground crew. They, the office staff, and manager are very friendly , helpful, and welcoming . MaiTai is surrounded by swaying palms, lime trees, and beautiful all season flowering Bougainvillea.

Molokai is known as “ The Friendly Isle". It has maintained the true Hawaiian way of life . You will not find all the trappings of tourism that many of the other islands offer.

Molokai is the path less traveled. Slow down and enjoy the journey .

The local coast line is stunning, and includes the longest 2 mile beach in Hawaii and smaller deserted sandy West side coves in addition to the Kalaupapa Peninsula which boasts the tallest sea cliffs in the world .

Tours can be arranged, by foot, air, or mule to visit what once was a hospital where Father Damien tended to those that suffered from Hansen's disease.

Although the local golf course is no longer operational it does provide wonderful walking trails which you will share with the wild turkey and deer .

Not to worry if you are a golfer, the Ironwood 9 hole course is a short drive away .

Whale watching is from January through March. An amazing sight that you will never tire of .

You will also see the endangered Monk Seals that come up on to the nearby beach to rest .

Watch the surfers or even join them !

MaiTai is at the West end of the island . There is a convenience store in Kaluakoi,, a short walk away. It is worth visiting. You will be surprised by some of the items they carry and may save you a 10 minute drive to Maunaloa where there is a larger grocery store. The main shopping center, Kaunakakai, is 30 minutes away.

If you are arriving on a Sunday, please note grocery stores are closed at 12 noon, although the small store at Kaluakoi is open until 5pm.

On your way to or from Kaunakakai stop at Kumu Farm for local produce, much of which is organic, and their famous pesto.

Take a short detour to Coffees of Hawaii. Includes a gift shop, tours, and delicious coffee. You may be lucky enough to catch the local ukulele jam session.

You are also very close to the Macadamia Nut Farm. So grab some locally grown and roasted nuts to enjoy with your evening refreshment on the lanai .

The East End and Halawa Valley offers spectacular scenery, hiking, diving, and snorkeling. Tours can be arranged.

We look forward to hearing from you and sharing our home with you.

Nice place
Aloha, I just returned from staying at this unit and loved the place the settings the animals felt like country and I loved that about this place. There was a lot of space in the unit not so much amenities though we mostly bought our own like paper towels, toilet paper etc but I didn’t mind it it’s Molokai what do you expect. One thing I noticed though the birds in the tree they chirp throughout the night but it’s by far the best on the island. I’ve been coming here for years. Thank you for the hospitality.

Relaxing stay in Molokai
This rental is a perfect place to enjoy Molokai. The lanai was wonderful cool place to enjoy the hot mid days and the beach is just a short walk away. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and we were able to make great meals every night with the fresh stuff from Kumi farms. Will definitely rent here again!

We loved it.
We had a great stay at Mai Tai. Everything was as described. All the rooms had a ceiling fan, but the loft had a portable, Dyson fan which helped a lot because it does get pretty hot up there in the middle of the day in August. Clyde was very helpful and pleasant to work with, and we really appreciate his hospitality. We look forward to vacationing here again the next time we visit Molokai!

A stay in paradise
I fell in love with Molokai instantly and very deeply. What a unique and blessed place! The apartment was lovely with a wonderful lanai, I miss the birds in the tree there terribly! We often cooked our meals, the kitchen is well stoked and the beds are heaven. The wonderful beach there is awesome and safe. We're from Switzerland and unfortunately don't have a sea, but this would certainly be the place in all of Hawaii where I would go back in a blink.

Great stay!
I was a leader of a Sierra Club service trip. There were 13 of us, 4 stayed in this condo and everyone met here for breakfast and dinner. It worked beautifully for us! Four single adults were very comfortable with the sleeping arrangements. The condo was attractive, spotless and well equipped. I hope to return next year!

Beautiful and convenient
We were lucky to get the Mai Tai. Check in was easy and Clyde was responsive to all our needs and questions. The pool is cold, but beautiful (but it is February and I’m not sure how much sun it gets). There’s a hot tub too. We used that quite a bit, but it closed at 8 pm. Wish it would stay open a little later. But this has no reflection on Clyde’s place. It’s great.

Relaxing Molokai
For those wanting to get away from the bustle of city life, this is the place. It is quiet and peaceful. Plenty of paths to walk, beaches to sit at, room at the pool and on the lanai as well. We enjoyed cooked meals and watched the sun set every night.

Quiet spot
Our family of 4 had a wonderful time. Very relaxing. Home was just as advertised with comfortable beds. No nightlife and had to do lots of cooking which was fine for us. Beaches a short walk are beautiful and empty. Waves were too much for us to do much swimming or body boarding. Pool is great. Surrounding areas are pretty desolate. People were lovely and friendly. Understandably they want to preserve their island and not have it overrun with tourists. We had no problems. Mahalo!

Great Condo in Molokai
We had a great experience renting this condo. No problems getting checked into the room. It was clean, loved that it had a W&D, and lots of beach towels. The only thing I would recommend would be desk or floor fans in every room. It was very hot and humid when we were there and it would have been great to direct fans to where we needed them. Trade winds didn’t keep it cool enough.

Great family vacation spot
The rental was great for our family of five. Convenient access to the pool, tennis courts and beaches. The first four days the kids thought we had a private beach because we were often the only people there. The unit has everything you could need on Molokai. We even grilled a few times and had everything we needed. The rental and island were both beyond expectations. A great place to relax or stay active with snorkeling, kayaking, golf it hiking tours.

Peace and tranquility
While staying at Mai Tai, the only sounds you will hear are from the birds, trade winds and waves. It was wonderfully quiet. Everyone was so respectful. This is the best equipped vacation rental we have ever been in. Clyde and Carrie have thought of everything! Communication was excellent. Whenever we had a question or concern Julie and Dana took care of things immediately. They were outstanding. The washer and dryer are fabulous! Lots of storage. Very comfy beds. Well stocked with spices. Great selection of books to read. The club house also has a library. It was fun being able to pick fresh limes whenever we needed them. All the residences, property, pool and hot tub of Ke Nani Kai are well kept. There are 3 beaches within walking distance. However, during the winter the waves are quiet strong and we rarely could swim but the waves were mesmerizing to watch, it was like watching a choreographed aquatic display, it was absolutely beautiful. It was wonderful to see the monk seals snooze on one of the beaches and watch the whales breach. The east side of the island has calm beaches for swimming and snorkeling. You will need a car and it is best to rent from a local. The airport car rental cost is outrageous! No restaurants or cafes on this side of the island but with such a terrific kitchen to use it is more fun to create your culinary dishes while enjoying the lush view here. I greatly enjoyed all what this kitchen had. Stock up on your groceries from Friendly's Market (and they are truly friendly) before you arrive and then enjoy all what Mai Tai has to offer! Molokai may be quiet but it is not boring. Do your homework and talk to the people of Molokai. You will be surprised by what this tranquil island has to offer. Mahalo to Clyde, Carrie, Julie and Dana for a wonderful experience!
