Lovely home in Mayres with house a mountain view
Located in the wooded hills of the ancient village of Mayres, crossed by the two rivers Ardèche and Borne, this independent stone house benefits from a very pleasant mountain view. It welcomes its guests on a natural plot adorned by shrubs, chestnut trees, wild flowers and roses, and features a secured private pool and a charming shaded terrace with barbecue and Hollywood swing. The cozy interiors feature wooden beams, a fireplace and a wooden sleeping gallery. Here you will vacation in the regional nature park of the Monts d'Ardèche with the charming region of the seven lakes (e.g. Lac d'Issarles or Lac de Naussac) and at the foot of the Chavade Pass and the Cevennes. Two spas not far away are just right for rest and relaxation after a trip to the surrounding attractions, which include the Tanargue and Thuyets massifs, with their gorgeous basalt rock faces and unforgettable valley views. On the way there, hike the Chaussée du Roi ("Way of the King") and the Echelle de la Reine ("Ladder of the Queen"): Two staircases set in the rock that will take you to the famous Pont du Diable, the Devil's Bridge. The geological curiosities of Lou Ron Tracha (the holey rock) and Gour Feraou de Conge are a must. The same goes for the Lignon Valley, the ruins of the Château de Montlaur, the Rocher d'Abraham rock and the Peyralade mineral spring. In summer, the ski resort of La Croix-de-Bauzon turns into a paradise for climbing, paragliding, canyoning, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and playing tennis. 26 km away is the historic and fortified town of Aubenas, known for its markets and events in the summer months.
