Welcome to our fully equipped 1000 sq ft walk-out apartment. The Dookit is a fully self contained basement apartment of The Byre, a modern custom built home. It is ready for you to enjoy all the nooks and crannies of the Georgian Bay Area has to offer.
Located between Thornbury and Meaford it is the perfect spot to call home for your vacation. This all year round location offers near by skiing, snowshoeing, caving, hiking, biking, beaches, swimming, boating, golfing, wineries, bars, restaurants, spa's, shopping and much, much more. All within easy reach or a short drive away are the Georgian Trail, Georgian Bay, *Blue Mountain Resort *Scenic Caves, *Scandinavia Spa (* approx 18m drive) just to name a few. You'll find The Dookit just off Highway 26 which allows easy access for all activities, groceries and dining.
The property has 2 parking spots at the front and a large tiered garden ideal for sledding in the winter and playing roly poly in the summer or even rolling Easter eggs!

The unit is a modern beautifully appointed and uniquely decorated to help make your stay memorable. The entryway is welcoming with a funky tiled heated floor. The right of the entry takes you to two bedrooms (1 Queen and 2 Twins) and also leads to a super cool tiled luxury family bathroom also with heated floor.

The entry houses a double closet. To the left a desk/work station along with double laundry closet with washer/dryer. There's a blackboard door with info on it and you'll find some chalk in the desk drawer and space at the bottom for the kids.
The hallway leads to the very welcoming and comfortable open plan lounge/dining/kitchen. The lounge area is accented with outstanding cabinetry/chimney and linear gas fire which ties into the custom kitchen which is fully equipped with everything you need for your stay. Chill on the couches in front of the fire watching your favourite movie or even have a game of Monopoly or even poker! There's an assortment of games & books for all ages, kids too. Reflect on your day or plan the next at the cozy dining area for four.

The covered deck is perfect for an alfresco meal. There's a dining table with benches and a gas BBQ. There's also 2 wooden Muskoka chairs next to the fire pit just waiting for you to make some S'mores. Also outside are hanging rails for your skis and snowboards.

We have some basic supplies - Orange Pekoe Tea (regular & decaf), Nescafe Instant Coffee, Tim Hortons Ground Coffee, Sugar. You are welcomed with a fresh loaf, a stick of butter, small carton of milk, Perrier water and a Lindt Lindor chocolate for every guest.
