We were going on the hell gate boat tour, this is the perfect place to stay. It's right on the water and the rooms have balconies or walkouts. It's a little dated and could be a bit cleaner but for the most part we really liked it and would stay there again.

This hotel has been one of our favorites but is showing its age. This trip we had an ADA room (not requested) that was in bad shape; the room smelled unclean; the bed is old; the a/c unit was very loud; the refrigerator had a disturbing whine. Smoke from fires prevented leaving windows open for fresh air and river sounds. Prices were very high for what we received. This may our last time at this property. Overall bad experience.

I really wanted to like it. It was on the river. The hallway to the room was carpeted, and really needed vacuuming. Our room was not very clean either. The floor hadn’t been vacuumed, and the bed covers didn’t look clean or fresh. The grout in the bathroom was dirty and had black areas. It had an old window type air conditioner, that was so, so loud. It was really hot and smoky out, so we had to run it. It stopped in the middle of the night, and we couldn’t get it to go back on. The one good thing about this place, was the staff. They were friendly, and nice. We won’t be going back.

The hotel property is quite nice, with wonderful trees surrounding a quiet location. The front desk staff is friendly & the hot breakfast is satisfying. And the rooms overlook the beautiful downtown river. However, older hotels like this are a cash cow, and there’s no excuse for the condition of our room, mold in the shower & peeling wood veneer on the bathroom door. As an older property, I expect a certain well worn vibe, but ownership/management has the resources to update these hotel rooms.
