Room was very large, bed so comfortable and large. Slept great. A cold bottle of water in room would have made a massive difference. There is nothing worse then been very thirsty when you have just landed and straight to bed.

Electrical sockets next to the beds were similar to those in India (3 round pins), i.e not the standard rectangular UK sockets, which is not common on most travel adaptors.

Can't say enough good about Double Tree by Hilton Newcastle. It is a 5 minute walk from the airport, to the Metro, and bus stops. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful - check in was a breeze :) The restaurant was excellent, had the best supper of our 3 week trip (braised beef). Alice, our server, was the best and we let her know how pleased we were. The room was spacious, lots of towels, comfy bed, and the heating/air conditioning unit worked great. We would highly recommend this hotel and if we travel to Newcastle again we will definitely stay at the Double Tree by Hilton
