Our visit was to help family with a project. It was nice to have a clean, comfortable place with friendly staff to come back to each evening. The only complaint is the pillows are to smushie for our liking.

During my stay housekeeping never visited my room. When I checked out I was told you need to request housekeeping. Never heard of this and was not told of this requirement. I am not a messy person but a check to see if towels were needed is a minimum service. Room was generally in good condition, but carpet had a few sticky spots and needed a good deep cleaning. Will likely try the Hilton up the street next trip.

DISAPOINTED AT THE HOLIDAY INN
We checked in on Friday at 9:30 pm. We left our room Saturday at 10:15 am for a family wedding. We returned to our room Sunday 12:55 am. In our room the beds were unmade, no new bath towels, we received NO maid service. We paid almost $250 per night for two a two-night stay $500.00. We checked out on Sunday at 11:00 am I informed the very young girl who checked us out, that our room was not cleaned or refreshed on Saturday. While smiling and laughing she informed me it's the Hotel's policy not to service the rooms unless we request it. I was shocked by this response and informed her I did not return to my room until almost 1:00 am I was not requesting maid service at that hour. She informed me when I checked in I should have been asked if I wanted the room to be cleaned. I stated I was not asked this question. In the alternative, if I did not want the room cleaned I would have used the UNIVERSAL and time-tested forever, door handle sign which states "Do not Disturb or Come Back Later" which the room had, to indicate I did not want my room cleaned or to be bothered by maid service. She had NO answer. 2 nights in Stoney Brook NY for $500 and no maid service because you forgot to ask me at check-in if I wanted the beds made and new towels, This could be the worst Hotel Policy I have ever heard of PLEASE REMEMBER I PAID $250 A NIGHT FOR A HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS. Beware of this scam.

The handicap rooms are very far from the elevator and the handicap parking is not by the main entrance but around the side. You need a key to get in that door which you don’t have until you register
