Would NOT Stay Again
My stay at the Uptown Moxy was not great. Upon arriving, the front desk employee asked us if we could move to another hotel (without explaining why) and then said “no, it’s fine, you can just stay here” when I said I wasn’t sure we would make our show in time if we moved hotels. The next morning my I called the front desk to see if we could have an extra hour in the room before checking out - I had a virtual meeting that ended right at check out time, so a little extra time would have been helpful. They were pretty rude when they said no, they couldn’t accommodate an extra hour. Also (and this is probably my fault for not doing my research), the rooms were microsized!!! That took me by surprise. Parking wasn’t ideal. And, finally, the entire Uptown area was under construction and so was incredibly difficult to navigate on foot and by vehicle.

Only 1 staff member at check in area for any guest assistance. 9:30ish went down for complimentary coffee (two other guests were waiting for coffee) and that same staff member was stocking convenience store and had coffee brewing somewhere else. Ice water was empty. Finally coffee just after that time, no ice water yet. Wonder why the night shift doesn't stock the convenience store and the coffee should have been available long before that.

The hotel is great and staff is terrific - responsive, friendly and professional. Lots of construction outside makes things less than ideal, but we worked around it and found a great breakfast at the nearby Uptown Cafe.

Rooms are tiny with almost no storage or surface space, but clean and the beds are comfortable. Common spaces downstairs are nice and the staff is mostly friendly and helpful. The streets around the property are all torn up at the moment which is somewhat unpleasant. Location is fairly convenient to most places in town.
