Dusty and stuffy - could not sleep
We could not sleep at all here due to heat, dust, and overwhelming fragrances. This is a great find for people with no sensitivities to dust, perfume, or extreme temperatures. It was a mistake to think ā€œno cleaning feeā€ meant the property was clean. Carpets, taxidermy, and upper shelves full of dust made it difficult to breathe. My eyes began itching within 10 minutes of entering the property. Listing specified AC in bedroom, but since the bedroom walls do not go up to the ceiling, the poor AC tried and failed to cool the entire cabin. Property is well insulated - it remained hotter than the outdoors until 4am during this heat wave, despite windows open and fans on high. Road construction nearby made outdoors hazy with diesel exhaust, more like the inner city than a wooded mountainside. Property is directly on the major road as well. Not the peaceful cabin in the woods we expected at all. Finally, it is ~45 min away from the park entrance with the current closure of the 245 (as of July 2024). With all these issues, we were lucky to get a refund and were able to find a hotel inside Kings Canyon National Park.

Antique cabin
If you appreciate antique charm, this place will certainly appeal to you. The host was friendly and very responsive. The cabin's vintage charm is evident in every corner, offering a nostalgic trip back in time. The authentic details from the 1920s are delightful and give the place a unique character that you don't find in modern accommodations. However, there were a few challenges. The air conditioning was limited to a small window unit in the bedroom, making the rest of the cabin quite stuffy. Fans were provided, but they mostly circulated hot air, which made it hard for me to stay comfortable due to my heat intolerance issues. The bathroom features a classic clawfoot tub, which adds to the antique ambiance. However, the shower setup was a bit inconvenient since you need to sit down to use it, as the shower handle doesnā€™t hang on the wall. Overall, this cabin is perfect for those who can embrace its vintage charm and don't mind a few quirks. If you're looking for a truly unique stay with a touch of history, and can handle some heat, this cabin is a great choice.

Cozy Cabin
The place was very nice and well kept and decorated. The host was absolutely amazing. Got our bed sheets changed every day. Clean towels. Right across the street thereā€™s this charming authentic restaurant, bar owned by a hard working gal Linda. The food was amazing. Will definitely return to this cabin.

Cute cabin in the woods. And decorated very rustically. There were lots of items in the kitchen, such as coffee, salt, pepper, Ziploc bags, etc. We even had to-go cups available. The refrigerator is very small, but did the job. A lot of things such as the sink, bathtub and wood floors were original to the cabin. Our only problem was the floor was sloped badly due to settling. It was difficult for my husband to sleep as he felt felt like his head was lower than his feet. He suffers from vertigo. Cabin was easy to find, and the restaurant nearby had tasty food and friendly staff.

Tucked away stay
Truly remote cabinā€”full kitchen and bath. Very cute and cozy but with modern amenities. Large deck and grill and two functioning fireplaces. Free parking and a delicious very local restaurant-bar across the street. The place is movie scene perfect for a hallmark Christmas. The down sides being if you are tall the bathtub will require you to bend down if taller than 5ā€™10ā€. While I fully expect rustic there were a lot of easy to dust cobwebs. Be very aware there is approximately 1 place to eat and no where for gas, groceries or laundry for 30-45 mins at minimum. The drive is ONLY for a confident driver and must be done in day light. I would recommend this place for sure but know itā€™s not rolling off the interstate into the holiday inn. Then again, if thatā€™s what you want, you probably shouldnā€™t be here ;)

Cozy Cabin
Melanie was a great host, she responded promptly to my questions. Check in process was simple and explained clearly. Cabin was cozy and has everything you could need. Only issue we encountered was that hwy 245 was closed due to construction, so in order to get to the cabin you had to use a 20 minute detour, from National Park. I didn't realize this until days later after my booking, so my mistake. Something of note, if you're tall like my husband (6" tall), bathtub might be a little inconvenient for you as you might bump your head on the roof.

A little piece of heaven
Could not have asked for a more splendid experience!!! Great hosts!! The quaintness of this little cabin is truly surreal!!! Rustic but yet has all the conveniences you need. Iā€™m a stickler for having hot water and this cabin has great hot water. The lodge across the street is a must see. Sitting in front of the fireplace And enjoying good food on a cool Spring evening. Everyone should experience this little piece of heaven tucked away in the Sequoia National Forest.

The place was nice and was what we were looking for, a place away from it all. Place could use some TLC as there where many things broken or not working and there is an active bumble bee hive outside the house.

Lovely Little Get Away
My partner and I rented this cabin for a quick get away weekend to celebrate our anniversary. It was the perfect little space for us - enough room with everything we needed and so close to the parks! The cabin is old, but has so much character/charm and was clean and well stocked. Melanie was very helpful with check-in information and the people at the bar across the street were welcoming when we popped in for dinner one night. Overall, a wonderful weekend and lovely little get away!

Awesome remote cabin
We loved staying at the kitschy cabin in Pinehurst. The only drawback was that it is a very, very curvy long drive to get to ā€œcivilizationā€ and the restaurant across the street (which is so wonderful!) was closed two of the three nights we were thereā€”had we known ahead of time we could have adjusted our schedule/purchases on the way in rather than being surprised when we arrived. This is not really anyoneā€™s fault, just a consideration.

Honeymoon
My wife and I st stayed here for a trip to Sequoia NP. This is a rustic historic cabin and maintained to not change this historic nature. We enjoyed our stay and the owners were quite helpful and flexible. Some basic food items were already there, but you should do your grocery shopping in one of the cities on your way in. For city folks - mountain roads are not for the faint of heart so plan ahead so you can avoid night driving. Great setting and close to the park entrance.

Cute mountain cabin
Great location to visit Kingā€™s Canyon National park. Wonderful restaurant right across the street. Really cute decor and rustic mountain ambiance. Cabin had very little space to bring in personal items. The lights were not working in the bedroom so hard to maneuver. Overall I would recommend.

Charming Cabin!
We enjoyed our short stay here for the weekend. Loved the antique decor and the Christmassy vibe it has. When trying to get in, the lock box says to open the center door but when you open the center door at first it says ā€œdo not use this doorā€ so it was a bit confusing. Itā€™s the left center door not the right. Other than that, it was a good stay.

Too Rustic for us!!!
This cabin was too rustic for us. For starters, the front door DID NOT LOCK!!! We returned from a day in the park to discover that the front door was open, even though the dead bolt was in the locked position! The owner came during the day to drop off some toilet paper (there was only half a roll in the cabin!) leaving the locked door open! The hole drilled for the dead bolt was so big and so worn that it could not keep the door closed let alone locked! This needs to be fixed! Also the lock box was very hard to open. The owner should invest in a new lock box. And the bedroom is very small and has no functioning window. Despite being cool outside, the bedroom was very stuffy. The bedroom really needs a ceiling fan and an overhead light that works. The chairs in the dining room, the only table to eat at, are totally worn out, with no support on the seats. They were painful to sit on. These chairs need to be replaced. The cabin should be better stocked with toilet paper and paper towels. And last but not least, there was no functioning TV in the cabin even though the tavern across the street had a working TV so we were not that much in the outback. But on the plus side, the cabin is a 20 minute drive from Grant's Grove in King's Canyon National Park. We enjoyed the close proximity to the park. With a little investment, this cabin could be a gem but it needs some upgrades.

The cabin was full of personality and charm with tons of mountain decor, a claw-footed bathtub, and stacks of board games. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of items. We were pleased at how close it was to the entrance of Sequoia Natl Park. It was right across the street from a fun lodge that drew locals for food and karaoke. The bed was a double, smaller than we preferred, but we made it work.

We enjoy this charming cabin. It was a bit further out then we expected, but we had a comfy bed after a long day in the parks. We also appreciated the history of the cabin.
