A luxury conversion on two levels, The Mill has been elegantly furnished with oak floors and exposed beams.

The bedroom with king size bed and en suite is on the ground floor and is entered through an entrance hall. The bedroom has an en suite with bath and overhead shower and heated towel rail.

Stairs lead from the bedroom up to the open plan kitchen and living area which is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer, TV/DVD, and Hi-fi.

The Mill has a private south facing patio leading from the bedroom and from the patio take a short walk into the field which boasts the highest point in the Parish with magnificent views over the Skirrid Fawr, Sugar Loaf Mountain and the Brecon Beacons beyond.

Under floor heating is throughout the ground floor with radiators on the first floor. Egyptian cotton sheets, welsh wool throws, down bedding and soft springy towels provided.

Gorgeous & quaint cottage with beautiful views and even better hosts!
We've had the absolute pleasure of staying at David's property for a few weeks, due to our home move falling through. A last minute request (with an incredibly prompt response!) and we couldn't have been luckier to stumble across this wonderful cottage. It's not only beautiful and cosy but also neat, clean & with all the amenities to keep us comfortable but more importantly it's been an absolute haven for us whilst we sorted our next step - I've not wanted to leave! David and Cathy are wonderful hosts, are so hospitable & what should've been a stressful period has truly been a delight. I can't recommend Penylan Farm enough, for short or longer stays!

Lovely stay
We stayed here for 5 days and were very pleased with the property. The surrounding area was lovely to take our dogs walking and plenty of places to visit a short drive away. The property manager was very helpful and polite. We would definitely stay here again.

I’m general everything was good
Although the cottage was beautiful and suited us perfectly the downside, I’m sorry to say, was just how uncomfortable the seating was. A 2 seater sofa is not big enough for 2 adults ! Very small and extremely uncomfortable. 2 wooden dining chairs were no substitute for escaping the sofa. Such a shame as it spoilt the overall experience of a short break. Lovely setting Great views

An amazing place

Absolutely stunning environment to relax and explore this part of Wales.
We stayed in Mill Cottage and its presentation was immaculate and contained everything we needed for a short/long stay. Cathy was very warm and welcoming and very happy to help out with access to her printer when I unexpectedly had ‘urgent’ business to conclude. After a long day out exploring this part of Wales my partner and I looked forward to returning ‘home’. I hope we can return one day!

Cozy comfortable holiday home
A delight that the weather was with us all week. The area around 'The Mill' is beautiful and the wider area including the forest of dean is one of our favourite places to visit. We had a week that was full of fun, whether shopping in Monmouth and Abergavenny or walking through wonderful countryside by the Wye valley.

Just returned from a weeks stay at The Mill and enjoyed every minute, a lovely comfortable barn conversion with everything we required. Cathy and Dave are such a nice couple and very helpfull giving us advice on walks and local attractions. If eating out, don't miss 'Warwicks' country pub at Tal-y-Coed, about 10 mins in car, great food and very welcoming. Thanks to Cathy & Dave for a great week.

Lovely cottage for small family getaway
This was our first trip away with our three month old baby and we enjoyed every minute of it. The owners are lovely and so welcoming, the walks are amazing, it is so peaceful and the scenery cannot be matched! Lovely cottage in stunning surroundings
Lovely little barn cottage suitable for a couple plus 1 child. The 2nd bed is the sofa pull out. Absolutely stunning surroundings. Forest of Dean only 15-20 drive away where we spent a lot of time. Nearest beach is straight down the motorway. Would definately recommend!! Only things that I might point out is that upstairs could do with a fan or two. It got extremely hot up there. Also maybe some carpeting or a runner on the stairs as they were quite slippy. Other than that I would recommend for a week or weekend away to anyone who wants to be surrounded by beauty.

my review has no failings on Cathy or her lovely cottage.
I think the Gods was against me from not finding the farm, to LOTS of things, my van getting bogged down in some-one elses drive ! had to be pulled out, again no-one fault. Cathy was friendly and helpful, even bringing me over a piece of her home made cake . Geoff who was in the front cottage helped me , giving me the key and checking everything was ok. The view from the lounge window was so serene, the cottage was so lovely and snug, warm, welcoming.
